Obituary of Kelly Eugene Dolen

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Kelly Eugene Dolen, resident of Taylor, B.C. who departed from this world on April 19, 2024, at the age of 66.

Born in Edmonton on May 2, 1957, Kelly was the third son to parents Eugene and Leona (nee Brown) Dolen. 

Kelly spent most of his life as an equipment operator (hoe hand) from pipelining to gold mining, his hard work took him to some beautiful and remote areas. He navigated through life with a wandering spirit, marching to the beat of his own drum. A skilled hoe hand, Kelly poured his heart and soul into his work, garnering admiration and respect from colleagues and peers alike. In more recent years Kelly's health had significantly declined and kept him from the work he loved.

Kelly is survived by sons Kaylon Dolen, Ryan (Jancey) Dolen, grandkids Carter, Kelby, and Kiarra, brother Gary (Linda) Dolen, sister-in-law Carol Dolen, and step siblings Brian (Edith), Jay Dee (Wanda), Wade (Cheryl), Doug (Melva), Lucille (Robbie), and Darrell (Michelle), along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Kelly was predeceased by his mother Leona Dolen, spouse Roberta Chester, son Kevin Dolen, beloved dog Dolly Lee Dolen, stepmom Phyllis Dolen, father Eugene Dolen, and brother Stuart Dolen. 

A service for the late Kelly Eugene Dolen will be held in the Taylor Community Hall in Taylor, B.C. on May 18, 2024 at 1:00pm
