Obituary of Sylvan Swanberg

Obituary Sylvan Laverne Swanberg passed away suddenly on April 10, 2011 in Demmitt, Alberta at 77 years of age. He was born July 2, 1933 in Valhalla Center, Alberta to parents Sven and Lena Swanberg. Sylvan married the love of his life, Dorothy Annie Burnard, on August 13, 1960 at the Roman Catholic Church in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Sylvan is predeceased by his parents Sven and Lena Swanberg, his sister Elsie Rude, his brother Orville Swanberg and his nephew Dwain Rude. Sylvan is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy, his children Dean (Sheilah), Loran (Tanya), Ann (Tony), Sharon (Charlie), and Joan, his grandchildren Randi (Todd) Alexander, Lora Swanberg, Jared Swanberg, Riley Swanberg, Konnor Sawyer, Luke Hopkins and Katie Hopkins, great grandchildren Maddie and Trae Alexander, his brother Dale (Sharon) Swanberg as well as numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. Funeral service for Sylvan will be held Friday, April 15, 2011 at 2:00pm from the Fort St. John Curling Rink with interment to follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to the Salvation Army or the Oasis Church Freedom Centre (www.thefreedomcentre.ca/donate).
