Marg and family,I was deeply sorry to hear of Stan's passing. I started my career in the ministry working for Stan and he was one of my best bosses. He was a wonderful individual who cared deeply and will truly be missed. He will remain forever in your hearts. Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.Maria and Randy Braden (Prince George)A candle was lit

Dear Marg, James, Robert, family,Paul, Sandra and I wish to express our sympathy in your loss and to let you know that our thoughts are with you.Stanley has always been there for us, for our family and specially for Paul by phoning him and telling him all about the news of Charlie Lake and Fort St-John, the weather up there, his fishing trips, airplane maintenance and his numerous trips in and outside B.C. His patience had no limit. Paul always enjoyed speaking with his big brother, his closest friend of always and he was so happy to listen to his voice over the phone. It was precious moments for Paul and Stanley was always generous with his time during these exchanges.Sandra and me benefited also very much from his advices in different situations as Stanley was always willing to help us in many ways. He was a man who always wanted to help, to make you feel good. Being kind, patient, knowledgeable, positive, he was a model for everybody around him. We always admired his beautiful paintings and trophies as he was a great artist, an exceptional hunter and most of all a perfect mechanic. His creativity had no limits. We will always remember his hospitality, his nice drives around Fort St-John and his kindness to always make our family feel welcomed in Charlie Lake. He was an exceptional man and a wonderful human being.Darren and Kevin are also very saddened by the lost of that uncle who meant so much for them and their family. We will all miss him dearly and he will remain in our hearts forever.May God give you the strength and the courage to go through this time of sorrow. Our prayers are with you in this difficult time and again, we offer you our deepest condolences for that great lost. With lovePauline

My Dad,What an amazing man! He took special time for me, trained me by his example, and sent me off into the world as a young man to make a difference by loving others deeply. I will always cherish the hunting trips that just the two of us went on. He took me to Colt Lake by aircraft, Toad River where he helped me with my first stone sheep, and the Horse Ranch Mountains near Cassiar where together we brought home my first goat and caribou. I had dad all to myself on these trips, and boy did I have questions about life. I had just become a Christian at age 13, and would ask him all sorts of questions about God. It was here that I really saw his love for God through the magnificence of God's creation. Dad would always say that only God could have created such wonder and beauty, and it was all in complete order.Dad would always take time to help Robert (my brother) and I on our vehicles, trailers, boats, homes, and everything else where advice, welding, building, or work needed to be done. I have memories of working together with dad when we built our own jet boat after I returned from college. He had amazing creativity and a craftsmanship that helped us complete exciting projects with simple tools and resources. These later years I saw my dad as the shepherd of people that he had been for many years. He often visited lonely people in the care home, and encouraged everyone he met. Through my work connections, my dad's name often came up, and there was always such a deep respect for him. Dad always asked about my job, our family, and the safety items of life like having good tires on our vehicles. Sometimes I would catch him cleaning my headlights with his gloves after a visit at our house. He expressed his love often in these ways. It has been so wonderful to live only a couple of minutes from their home.I was so blessed when dad would say that he was pleased with my family, and my job like a son longs to hear this from their father. He was so thankful every time I brought a load of water to their home, and I think it was mostly because he just wanted to visit together. I will always remember his big hands. It was with these hands that he provided and cared for me, held me as a young boy, carried me, guided me, taught me, invested in me, had confidence in me, disciplined me (I've got lots of these stories), and together with mom, pointed me to Jesus. I remember not long ago touching these special, worn hands with many scars reminding me of life's stories, and trying to help dad with some of the skin problems he was working through. Those hands were a reflection of his caring heart, and of a loving father.I loved him deeply, and will miss him more than words can say. I do look forward to being together in heaven with him soon because our hope is in a living God who is preparing a place for all those who belong to Him through His Son Jesus Christ. This passage from the Bible, 1 Peter 1:3-5 describes what dad believed.Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade - kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power.
