My heart goes out to you Colleen......so sorry to hear that John has left his earthly home. I pray that your time together after his stroke, when we met you at GF Strong was enriching, despite the challenges that came along with it. May you find peace in knowing that you were John's greatest support when he needed you. My thoughts are with you and your family at this very sad time. Take good care Colleen. Thank you for sharing with us. Hilda and Jack OrangeNanaimo, BC

I think John must have read all the Westerns collection at Hudson's Hope library and worked his way through the local history section too. A quiet man with a lovely smile. We were all so pleased when he brought Colleen home to our community and you combined your love of music to bring us some great entertainment at the Fall Fair.

Howdy Colleen and your beautiful family. I am still playing Bluegrass music in Korea and doing a weekly Bluegrass radio show. My next show is on March 3rd, so I will sing and dedicate a song to you in memory of a guy who showed his love for family and music with his great big smile. My favorite memory of John was when I sang at the festival in Dawson Creek and John sat smiling at me, way out in front of the rest of the crowd. I'm glad to hear you are celebrating his life...........that's exactly what he did!Love, Peter (Bassman)

Colleen and Gillie Family,Remembering back to the first "singles" dance when John sat off quietly and shy smiling at everyone. Life has taken many twists and turns since then. From the hoedown wedding at the soccer club, to the many music events over the years, and then his stroke. Never did I see John when he wouldn't attempt to make another smile, and he always attempted a laugh, sometimes at his own expense. We all have our wonderful memories, his stories of deer hunting with the kids, camping, fishing, and jamming around a firepit making the music he loved. Those are the memories that will keep his face smiling in our minds forever. A cup of Tim's coffee will always bring a smile and giggle while thinking of how determined he was to prove his point. We love you, miss you and wish we could be there with you and will be in spirit. Hugs to you all.Larry, Sharon (and boys)

This "Deputy" would just like to thank John for all of the laughter he brought to each and every conversation I had with him. Lunch time with free entertainment, who could ask for anything more. His departure saddens me greatly, but the memories will be with me forever and that I am forever grateful for! I know that you have just be sent to others to fill them with joy like you did for us.

We are sorry to hear of John's passing. When we knew him best he was young. He liked to tell a good joke and this was often followed by his own He He. Quinn and April Podulsky

We are very sorry to hear of John's passing. I always enjoyed John when he was able to come into the library, he always took time for a short visit, and share his humour. Karen and Gord Anderson
