Alec, Kathy and John, we are extremely saddened by the loss of Jeannie. You have lost a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, the community has lost a very caring and devoted volunteer to our community. We will remember her always from the very early days in minor hockey to our last time with her helping with the registration for our senior oil men's. We were Jeanne and Alec's neighbours for many years in Fort St. John. I remember our son Mike at his birth receiving little Niki runners from Jeanne and her family. I became a story reader at Music 91 with Jeanne's support. What an awesome woman, and great family. My condolences to Alec, John and Kathie. You will be so missed, Jeanne. The world has lost a bright light. But heaven has received a blessing. May God hold you all in the Hollow of His Hand today and comfort Jeanne's friends and family.

I am one of the many lucky people who was blessed to be a friend of Jeanne's. I sang with her in Oilwives when I was 20, I worked with her in Music 91 when I was 39, she hugged me when I got MS at 40, and when I came to South at 50, she gave me an "Angel of Hope". It reads "when everything in your life is going wrong, and it's so very hard to be strong, this Thoughtful little angel has a gift for you. Open the lid and you will find inside a single ray of hope, that shines from within and fills your heart with strength." I feel compelled to share this with my other friends now: Alec and John and Kathie. I am honored to think that these words were given to me to give to you. For the last fifteen years this angel has hung on the wall beside me to look at every day, and today is the first day that I have taken it down to share with you. It's amazing to think that my friend Jeanne gave me an angel and now she is an angel. She will never be forgotten and I am forever grateful.
