Obituary of Edward Sampson

Obituary Edward Albert Sampson Edward Sampson was born to Ralph and Iola Sampson, on October 28, 1934, in Caribou, Maine. He has three sisters: Earlyne, Marie, and Dorothy. The Sampson family moved to Arkport, New York, in 1943. Ed was raised on a farm. After high school, he joined the United States Army Reserve. He met his wife, Margaret, of New Britain, Connecticut, and they married on November 1, 1958. They raised two boys, Ralph and Merlin, in Medway Maine. In 1974, the family moved to Headwaters Ranch, in Pink Mountain, BC. In 1978, Ed started Ed's Garage, at Mae's Kitchen, Mile 147, Alaska Highway, where he worked until he retired. Ed and Margaret lived at Headwaters Ranch for 41 years, until the ranch was sold in the fall of 2015. He spent his remaining years living on his son Merlin's property in Charlie Lake. He passed away peacefully, on January 27, 2018, in the Fort Saint John Hospital. Surviving him is his wife Margaret, of 59 years; son Ralph and Brenda, and their children: Alyssa, Aaron, and Annamarie; son Merlin and Michelle, and their children: Victoria, Jonathan, Daniel, David, and Spencer. Surviving, in addition to his three sisters, are many of his nieces, nephews, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Expressions of Sympathy can be made in memory of Edward to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the BC Cancer Society.
