I will always be thankful for having known Grampie Ed. His love and helpfulness for people was a treasure to value. He was an example of faithfulness and steadiness. He will be greatly missed, but he is part of a great cloud of witnesses that is cheering us on!

A few more memories of Ed came to my mind after I penned my tribute. After we moved to the new building up valley, we had two different buildings. There was no laundry room where I had my apartment and we had to drag our laundry to the other side even in the winter time with snow on the side walks. Ed saw us struggling and brought it up to the elders to have one in our building .Oh! what a relieve it was to do our laundry in our building instead of going to the other building .Several evenings some of us would gather around the piano and have a sing along. Guess, who would be there. Ed with his famous harmonica. He enjoying singing and praising God.He encouraged the young ladies to learn driving and he taught them to drive. I am sure they are all grateful to Ed for his kind gesture. They did not have to pay, to learn driving.During the mud season, it was very hard to go to Mae's kitchen, but with Ed's expertise to drive, the women felt safe to go.When Ed and Margaret first heard the word from Brother Sam Fife to sell every thing and move to live in a community, they obeyed and came to live at Headwaters Ranch. Hebrews 6: 10God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to saints. Well, he has gone to receive his reward, so there is no need to sorrow but rejoice.

I will always be grateful for all what Ed has done for me and I will remember him for his kindness and generosity.I can't imagine Head Waters with out Ed Sampson. He has been the pillar of HR . He poured out his life for the family at Head Waters . He was diligent in all what he did. He liked to cut down trees and clear the land. He worked on clearing the land day and night and got HR looking like a perfect golf course. His passion for tractors were contagious and he got a few young people hooked on it. After he retired he took on gardening and figured out a way to do the weeding with the tractor which we were happy about so we didn't have to be there all day weeding ! He loved potatoes so guess what we had tons of potatoes and he spoilt the ladies by washing and drying the potatoes so it will be all ready for cooking. His potatoes were gigantic and fit for kings. He loved to tinker in his old shop and kept all the equipment in tip top shape for the haying season. When he got older he joined the tractor pull club and enjoyed going to the fall fair so he could participate in the competition and he has a few awards to prove it.We will miss him greatly and his harmonica playing.

When I first came to Headwaters, Ed and Margaret opened theirhome to me. I felt relaxed and peaceful to share their love and hospitality. In the evenings I would sit down with Ed to discuss doctrinal issues and Margaret would be patiently listening to our discussions. Ed was a loving and kind man. Headwaters was privileged to have him as one of the elders who moved in integrity. In the summer time, he would be helping the younger ones with haying. He also worked in the garden and worked hard to bring in bountiful harvest of vegetables. He was a workaholic.,Margaret, the Lord was merciful to take him home at the right time sparing him from all the physical ailments. He is now free from all the troubling situation , going back and forth to the hospitals. Thank God for his life on this earth. May His presence be with you Margaret and fill the vacuum. Freda your friend.

I have countless memories of going with dad to visit Ed at his garage in Medway. When I was quite young I remember the whole medway bunch who traveled caravan style to Mt. Kahtaden to Pinecrest and beyond. I would always get car sick and Ed taught me to pick an object straight ahead as we were driving and to keep my eyes on it and never look out the side window. It works. Very kind man! Sending my thoughts and prayers to all the familyA candle was lit
