I was looking for Neil and Lynns phone number in my address book, but didn't find it. Decided to look them up on line and this is what I found. I was so shocked. Lynn, and family, I am so sorry for your loss. I talked to both Neil and Lynn maybe 2 years ago. He said they were coming to Grande Prairie and that we might be able to get together, but that never happened. I would love to hear from you, Lynn or Heather. I still live in Sexsmith. Have remarried since Henry Bartsch passed away, so my name now is Christensen.I love you all and will be praying for you. Esther (Bartsch) Christensen.

just learned of Neil's passing. So sorry to hear this. I have many fond memories of Neil and all his family. Often think of the camping trips and still wonder who was chopping wood outside our tents at 6:00 am. And the fish, so plentiful and the rain so plentiful too. So much fun we had. And Jasper was splendid. Cutest pictures of our little boys. Love to all and would love to reconnect with lovely Lynne. Much love from Penny Gabriel) Paget -Kamloops

Condolences from Sonja and me. Neil was a person I admired for his inability to let the system, whether it was Airport planning or a local industry, get away with slackness or idiocy, as he saw it. He was a man who would dig deeply into a problem and express his better solutions to managers everywhere. Some of them probably took his advice. I hope so, because, above all else, Neil was a rare creature, a thinker and a doer, a man of more vision than most of us. Neil was a gift. He made things run better than they would have had he not been there. He was also a really good neighbour during our shared time on 116th Avenue. We shared laughs and a wry world view. He even forgave me for being Sam and Russ's English teacher. Our feelings go out to Heather, Sam, and Russ. He was your father so he will always be with you. There will be times when you will curse him and love him. Let that happen. To Lynn we say we are so sorry for your loss of your husband. Let your faith guide you.

Neil was a special friend to my husband, often stopping by for a little visit, where they would attempt to fix a crib board or noodle around with a guitar. Very kind & jolly. I'm thankful we had those visits and cherish the friend made.

My sincere condolences at this sad and too-soon passing. He was a wonderful family man and friend. I saw him in October in Ft. ST. John and he was always the same smiling Neil. He loved his wife and his kids. Did his best with whatever he put his hand to . Was a privilege to know him and share memories with him. Thinking about Sam, Russ and Heather and Lynn . God comfort and sustain you.

Had a southern comfort on ice last night and listened to A Boy Named Sue. I swear I could hear him giggling all the way through! Loved that man! Even though we butted heads he was the only father I knew. Hope now he realizes how deep it goes. Forever and a day Mr. Thompson, BEST Poppa ever:heart:

Very sorry to hear about Neil and our sincere condolences to the family. Met Neil and the family when they relocated to Thorsby for work at EIA. We apprenticed together and stayed close. We also shared alot together including lots of scotch combined with many stories about many topics. We also did a little flying together as well along with sailing at Mulhurst and at Charley Lake and we shared some camping too. We would visit later when we relocated to Watson Lake and then to Yellowknife. Lots and lots of good times for sure. Neil will not be forgotten. So long my friend. Missing you so much already.John & Carol
