I was very sad to hear that Glenn had passed. My family met Glenn through his son Mike and often saw Glenn at the boys' hockey games. It was very obvious that Glenn enjoyed watching his grandsons play. He also seemed to know everyone at the arena! Whenever I'd run into Glenn uptown he always remembered me and we'd have a short conversation. We all thought Glenn was a genuinely kind man. Memory of Merlyn Glenn ThompsonI was privileged to have met Glenn in 1976 as that was the same year I met my future wife Sharon, his daughter. I had a feeling "that I was going to like this guy".Over the years as I got to know him better I began to realize how dynamic a man he really was. He struck me as "a family first kind of guy."It was easy to see that he took pride in his children and their offspring in his genuine interest "in everyone's lives."His kindness and generosity were very apparent over the years. I was personally struck by his caring nature when I recently had cancer and he made himself available to help in any way he could. On the occasions when I was able to share company with him and his friends it was apparent "we all felt we were in good company when we were with Glenn."Glenn was an exemplary example of a man who loved life, was passionate about his personal interests, and more than willing to lend a helping hand when "he felt he could see the need."How many son in laws can say their father in law was a friend?I certainly can, I'll see you on the other side of the sunset Glenn.
