Kathy was one of my favourite people in FSJ. We would go to Northern Lights when we were living in Buick Creek. Kathy would carry our son, Sean, around on her hip, through the kitchen while we enjoyed a dinner. Oddly, Sean became a chef. And Angela become one of my students. I am saddened by your loss.

Dear Tim and family... I am so sorry to hear about Kathys passing.I will never forget my years working at northern lights. So many great laughs. Kathy was always ready with a smile or chuckle. Her and I would be in the kitchen and every time I would say a bad word she crossed herself.. Then the laughing would start. Those were some fun times. Most sincere condolences from my family and I. I will say a prayer for you all, and for Maria and my friend Kathy.

Mrs. Stamatelakis was such a wonderful, kind and lovely lady! In all of the years that Kathy and Tim owned and operated their restaurant, Kathy was always such a gracious host. Even though I moved away from Fort St. John many years ago, it was always a pleasure to have a chat with her when I was working in the area and happened to see her either at the restaurant or somewhere else in the community. She always stopped to take a moment to ask how I was doing and how my parents were doing. When she asked, you just knew that she was asking not out of some sense of requirement to engage in small talk, but rather out of her genuine concern for others and for how they were! I am so very sad to learn of her battle with cancer and of her passing! My most sincere condolences to her family and friends at this difficult time! I hope that you are able to take comfort in knowing that her struggles are over, her battle is done and she is now at peace! You were a wonderful lady and you will be missed! Rest in Peace!

Kathy was the main reason we always went to Northern Lights Restaurant. She was so friendly and welcoming. Many years later I worked with her at a fundraiser and we talked about the old days at the restaurant. Lots of good memories. Rest in peace Kathy.

Kathie will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She always had time for everyone and you could see the caring she had for you. All the years I knew her I saw her irate once. She was telling me how her grandsons painted her birds. I started to laugh and so did she. End of irate. She will be so happy to be with Maria. Rest In Peace. Darlene McDowell
