Its a small world but still I missed this important news regarding Mr. Reiner. My condolences to his family. I have many memories of Mr. Reiner and was so pleased to see him at the last reunion in Fort St. John. He was my friends next door neighbour as well as being our Vice Principal. He kept us honest with kindness and understanding. It was a pleasure to have known him.

Sorry to hear Mr. Reimer has passed away. He made high school a lot better for me in 1966-68 and I was thrilled that he remembered me by name at a school reunion many, many years after I graduated. He was a great teacher and administrator.

I am grateful to have shared work and life with Ernie and Elfrieda at LCC in Lithuania. As a young teacher, Ernie made a strong impression on me of both strength and caring. He responded decisively in a difficult situation, but he also created an ethos of support and care for both staff and students. Ernie had boundless energy and enthusiasm for people and life, and his faith in God permeated everything he did. I appreciated Ernie's straightforward approach to life and benefited from his advice and wisdom. He was a mentor to me both in his life and through his written memoirs. My deepest condolences to Elfrieda and their family.

Good-bye my good friend. You will be deeply missed for talks and coffees. You kept your faith, You loved as Jesus does. You kept your feet upon the lite path. You finished the race. You battled for your Savior and found those lost. May you rest in peace my friend... Thanks for your prayers. May your light shine bright in heaven. ( Sincere condolences to the entire Ernie Reimer Family, and friends )

Our deepest condolences to you Elfireida on the loss of your wonderful husband. To Elsa, Marla, Carl, Anita and Lora and your families on the loss of your father, grandfather and great grandfather. Ernie was an amazing co-labourer in the ministry of Jesus who taught me a tremendous amount in the years I had serving alongside him at NPMB. I will never forget the day we both almost died together! Going into the basement of the church during a power outage to open the vents in the generator room. We both nearly succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning! Thankfully Bev Amendt saved us :) Ernie and Elfireida showed the love of Jesus to Joan and I and our 3 sons in such wonderful and rich ways. They demonstrated hospitality and Ernie was like and additional grandfather even in the years after we left FSJ. Ernie always showed in his life of following the Way of Jesus; love, grace, wisdom and forgiveness. Sadly, at a time when so many want to demonstrate aggressive judgemental attitudes, Ernie's model of a being a real ambassador for Christ will be missed. We grieve with you as family the hole that Ernie's passing will leave in all of your lives. We also celebrate with you Ernie's graduation into the life after death that he is experiencing now, in the presence of his wonderful Saviour.

Ernies passing marks the end of an era for those whose lives he touched. For some of us , he played a pivotal role. In my case, it was firstly as my Social Studies 11 teacher and vice-principal. Shortly thereafter he became my boss and supervising principal at Dr. Kearney early in what would become my 49 year career in School District #60. So many stories and life events would follow. During that time he was known for the brevity of his phone conversations. Those who called regularly had an ongoing competition to be the first to hang up. He did what he thought was best and held tightly to his principles, sharing them freely. He has earned his rest. Sending thoughts of comfort and peace to the family.

WOW! I have so many memories of Ernie, that I don't know where to begin! When I first moved up to FSJ from the Vancouver area in the late 70's, I already had brothers there for "family", however Ernie and the entire Reimer clan still accepted us all like we were also part of their family, too. On numerous occasions Ernie and I would go for lunch "just for chit chats", yet those times were still so significant. Another thing I remember about Ernie is that no matter how serious our "church business meetings" were, he always had a way to keep these meetings "balanced" with his sincerity, yet also his unique humour as well. In the mid 1990's I moved back to the Vancouver area, however Ernie was still on my mind on many occasions. Amen and God bless you all during this time.

I met Ernie in 1986 after moving from Abbotsford to Fort St John with my then spouse, Ernie welcomed us into NPMB Church and we had many good counselling sessions, and he would always leave you with things to think about and many heart to heart conversations. He was very honest and very kind. My deepest sympathies to the family, he was a great man.

My condolences to the family. In the summer of 1969 I visited FSJ for a few days as I was to start working at NPSS when the school year started. Ernie met me at the school and showed me around, loaned me his truck for the few days and had me to his home for dinner. I worked with him at NPSS until he left for Dr. Kearney. He was more than a colleague; he was a friend as well. I remember him fondly.

Uncle Ernie was a wonderful man. He didnt hesitate to speak his mind, but did so in a respectful way. I have a fond memory of a conversation on his deck overlooking Charlie Lake back in 2008 (my last visit to FSJ) about grieving and moving on. He will be remembered and missed. Much love to aunt Elfrieda and all my cousins.

My wife Leslie and I wish to add our condolences. Ernie was the vice principal at North Peace when I come as a keen young teacher about 1970. He was an efficient administrator with a sense of humor who gave me all sorts of useful tips. Outside of school we worked as mediators when a problem arose involving two refugees from the South Sudan, one sponsored by the Anglican Church and one by the Mennonite Church. May God bless the family, you will be in our prayers.

My most sincerest condolences to the Reimer family. He was quite a man. He spoke what he thought and stood by it. He was my Vice Principal and yes kicked my butt out of school on at least one occasion or more but he also offered me the opportunity to do grades 10, 11 and 12 in two years and not three. He kicked me out and then went to bat for me. Was my friend ever since and I admired him for his stance as a man and a Cristian. I remember his help with the Christian School when he was the Superintendent of School District 60. He as a man that touched many lives in a positive way.

My memory of Ernie will never be forgotten as we shared experiences of working a great time together at the MB church. I was compiling a pictorial directory and as everyone may know, he was endowed with very little hair so, before his photo was finished, his head was covered with hair! That is something we laughed together about many, many times! 'My Peace l leave with you, my Peace l give unto you...'My love goes to you, the whole family!

Sincere condolences to the Reimer family on the passing of 'Mr. Reimer' as he will always be remembered by me from his days teaching at NPSS. He was a great Social Studies teacher, no nonsense, but fair, and a slight twinkle in his eye. He started the Inter School Christian Fellowship Club at NPSS in 1966. He was a kind soul who always had time to chat in later years when he'd come to the CKNL Trade shows. A long life well lived. May he rest in Peace.

Dear Elfrieda and family,Please receive our deepest condolences as you mourn the loss of Ernie. Ernie was our Bible Study leader back when we first attended the MB church as newlyweds in 2000. We were using Chuck Colson's book, How Now Shall We Live. It was a difficult read but Ernie helped us decipher the message. We were challenged weekly as we dug into the Bible. One particular night, we were meeting in his living room, he was sitting on an Ikea footstool when all of a sudden, the stool broke and he fell in between the slats. He wasn't hurt, thankfully, and we all had a good laugh including Ernie. Ernie was a man of strong convictions, determination and always had a word of encouragement and yes, he often asked us if we were still living for Jesus. I always appreciated his direct approach; it reminded me of my folks. :)We are so thankful that we had the opportunity to chat with him one last time this spring when he and Elfrieda came down to Lacombe for her sister and hubby's 50th anniversary party. May God's peace reign in your hearts as you mourn Ernie's passing.Love,Darian and Ruth Clark and boys
