Obituary of Teresa Lynn McLeod
Teresa Lynn McLeod, a beloved wife, stepmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 11, 2025, in Fort St. John, British Columbia, at the age of 74. She was born on July 28, 1950, in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to her loving parents, Art and Phyllis Girton. Teresa's passing is deeply mourned by her family and friends, as she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and strength.
Teresa's early years were filled with joy and adventure as she was raised in the picturesque town of Bonners Ferry, Idaho. She had a passion for horses and was crowned rodeo queen in her senior year of high school, a testament to her grace and love for the equestrian world. Her love for horses and the outdoors remained a constant throughout her life, bringing her immeasurable joy and peace.
In 1978, Teresa made the life-changing decision to move to Canada to be near her family. It was there that she met the love of her life, Marvin McLeod, whom she married in 1981. Together, they embarked on a journey filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Their love bound them together until Marvin's passing in 2002. Teresa's heart carried the weight of his absence, but she found solace in the cherished memories they had created together.
Teresa's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family, as she embraced her role as a stepmother to Marvin's sons, Wade, Kevin and Troy. She was also a grandmother to Chase and Brianna. She loved them dearly and worked hard alongside Marvin to raise their boys and be there and enjoy the grandkids.
In 1995, Teresa and Marvin made the bold decision to start a construction company and moved to Mile 95, where they poured their hearts and souls into building a successful business. Teresa's dedication and work ethic were unmatched, and her contributions to the company were invaluable. Her culinary skills were also renowned, and she was known for being a great cook, delighting her loved ones with her delicious meals and warm hospitality.
Teresa's family was her pride and joy, and she cherished her relationships with her brothers, Bob and Keith, and her sisters, Conda (Bob) and Kelli (Doug ). She was a great auntie to many nieces and nephews, and her nurturing presence left an indelible mark on their lives.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, Art (2014)and Phyllis (2020)Girton, her husband, Marvin McLeod (2002), her brother Bob (2018), Son Troy (2018) and her brother in law Doug (2024). Their absence left a void in her heart, but she carried their memories with her, finding comfort in the love they shared.
Teresa's passing leaves a profound emptiness in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her kindness, resilience, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her memory will be cherished for generations to come.
