Obituary of Dale Eyben

Remembering Dale Eyben

Allan Dale Eyben was born June 17th 1957, the second of 5 children to Norman and Leola Eyben in New West Minister, BC.

Shortly after the 3rd child, Kelly, was born, they moved to the BC Peace area.

Dale went to school at James Paul and then into Dawson Creek, Frank Ross and South Peace until he graduated.

He enjoyed horseback riding, fishing, cars, camping. When Dale was still in his teens, his horse Misty had a foal that he named Gypsy. Since Misty died foaling her, we all had a hand in bottle feeding. Gypsy became part of our family and even thought she should come in the house with us, which she did a few times.

Dale enjoyed deep sea fishing with friends out near Prince Rupert, and came home with many stories. We always enjoyed a fish feed with his family on his return.

Dale had two beautiful children from his 1stmarriage, Angel Jo-Ann and Mitchell Gregory that he loved so much. Even though he didn't get to spend as much time as he would have liked with them, they were always in his heart.

Dale worked at various places over his lifetime, (always seemed to be a parts man) the last being Inland Kenworth (Parker Pacific).

While working in Fort St. John, he met and fell in love with Diana Gauthier. Dale's family just got bigger. They were married August 1st, 2015. Along with Diana he also grew to love her 6 grown children. Cory, Naje, Ray, Shaleah, Aaron and Melisa.

Dale and Diana enjoyed their years together working on the little acreage on the Alaska Hwy. Turning it into a beautiful little oasis.

They moved Mom and Dad onto their property in Dec. 2017 and helped take care of them until Leola passed away in 2022 and Norman moved to Rotary Manor in March of 2024. They sold and moved to Fort St. John Oct. of this year.

Dale and Diana bought property at Big Lake, hoping to retire there.

I believe he will still be there with them all. Enjoying every time they take the raft out on the lake, go fishing or sit around the camp fire. He will be there.

Dale was predeceased by Leola Eyben and Cory Gauthier.
