Obituary of Delphine Lorraine Crossen
With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Delphine Lorraine Pinette. Delphine lost her very sudden and short battle with cancer on Monday, December 16, 2024. For 9 weeks following her diagnosis, she was surrounded by her family and friends as she battled a very aggressive and painful cancer, which she succumbed to at the young age of 57.
Delphine was born to Bonnie and Marcel Pinette on April 28, 1967, in Edmonton Alberta. She was raised in British Columbia by her father and stepmother Gloria, alongside her four siblings. Growing up she competed in horseshoes with her parents and daughter, always amazing everyone with her skill. Delphine was a true country girl, never afraid of hard work or getting her hands dirty. She had a love for crafts, cooking, baking, gardening, decorating and cuddling her animals. When she wasn’t busy with these activities, you’d often find her spoiling her grandchildren. This gained her the name “grandma spoils”. That’s because you’d never find her empty handed around her grandchildren, always a candy or gift to see them smile.
After the loss of Delphine’s stepmother, Gloria, in July 2021, she moved her father to Fort St. John to live with her. In the last 3 years she dedicated her time to care for Marcel, help him navigate life in a new town, make new friends, and gain his health back.
Delphine is survived by her father Marcel, children Kitrenna (Nigel) and Micheal (MJ), stepdaughters Tasha, Shawna (Ken) and Riley, grandchildren Axle, Adelynn, Kaiden, Kasey, Hayes, Wren, Brielle and Ebel, and sister Marcy (Greg). She will be deeply missed by her extensive circle of friends and family.
Delphine was predeceased by her mother Bonnie, stepmother Gloria, brother Ed, and stepbrother Vance.
A celebration of life will be held close to her birthday in April, as per Delphine’s wishes.
