Obituary of Daniel Christopher Dinn
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved dad, Danny Dinn. Dan passed away surrounded by his family at Fort Nelson General Hospital on December 13th 2024.
Daniel Christopher Dinn was born on June 28th, 1959, in Syndey, NS. The fourth of five children to (Richard) Dick and Gladys Dinn. Dan was raised in a military family, moving around following Dicks deployments internationally and eventually they settled in Petawawa ON. In 1978, Dan joined the Royal Canadian Air Force, serving in Comox, BC. Seeking new horizons, Dan ventured to Fort Nelson, BC, where he quickly established deep roots within the community. He started a family and dedicated 23 years to Tackama Plywood before transitioning to the oilfield and retired in 2016.
Dan was a sportsman, enjoying hockey, golf, baseball, curling, and pool. He loved to socialize, was known for his entertaining nature, culinary skills, and infectious laughter. He was a devoted fan of the Boston Bruins and had a lifelong interest in aviation.
Dan will be remembered for his generosity, his love for his family and the countless ways he enriched the lives of those around him. He leaves behind a void that could never be replaced and will forever be missed.
He was predeceased by his father, Richard (Dick) Dinn, mother, Gladys Dinn, brothers, Ronald and Richard Dinn and sister Beverly Adams.
He is survived by his loving daughters; Kiera (Adlin) Hubbard, Hope (Thomas) Hutlet, his sister, Marilyn Dinn, his nieces, Shona Adams, Sherry Adams, ShirleyAnn Hoffman; and his nephews, Bobby Hackett and Alexander Macleod. He is also mourned by other extended family and friends.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Fort Nelson General Hospital, BCEHS, Northern Health Unit and the extended family/friends for continuing to help Dan through his health complications over the last five years. It truly takes a community to support our sick and elderly and we couldn’t have done it without you.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ducks Unlimited or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A Celebration of Life will be planned later in the year.
