Obituary of Hubert Kelly
Hubert Kelly, a beloved husband, dad, grandpa, and papa K, passed away on October 31, 2024, in Fort St. John, British Columbia. He was born on January 15, 1944, in Gaspe, Quebec, and his life was a testament to love, dedication, and a deep appreciation for family and the great outdoors.
Hubert is survived by his loving wife, Iona, and his children: sons Chris, Curt (Gudrun), Rick (Linda), daughters Cheryl (Kelvin), Cindy (Al), and Lana (Phil). He was also a cherished brother to Lynn (Jenny). Hubert's legacy lives on through his 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, all of whom he adored and cherished.
Throughout his life, Hubert was a dedicated employee of BC Hydro, where he worked as a lineman and later as a manager. His commitment to his work was matched only by his devotion to his family. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren, and his love for them was unwavering.
Hubert had a passion for the outdoors, finding solace and joy in hunting and camping with his family. His love for nature was infectious, and he instilled a deep appreciation for the natural world in those around him.
In addition to his immediate family, Hubert was predeceased by his parents, Viola and William, as well as his siblings Reynold, Jean, Winston, and Mona. Their memories will forever be cherished alongside Hubert's.
Hubert Kelly will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for his family will forever be remembered and cherished. May he rest in peace, knowing that his legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched.
A funeral service to honor Hubert's life will be held on November 6, 2024, at the Fort St. John Legion at 1 pm, with light refreshments to follow.
