Obituary of Darryl David Wilson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darryl Wilson, who left us on August 9, 2024, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Darryl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and cherished friend who will be remembered for his kindness, strength, generosity, work ethic, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Darryl was predeceased by his parents, Pearl and David, stepfather Morris, mother-in-law Betty, brother Garth, and his daughter Sheila. Despite these profound losses, he remained a steadfast pillar of love and support for those around him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Dianne, who was his kind and loving companion throughout their journey together. Darryl is also mourned by his children, Darrin & Tannea, Lynette & Ryan, and Vicki & Cole who carry forward his legacy through family traditions and the love he modelled. His spirit lives on in his grandchildren: Chelsie, Sara, Tyler, Tisen, Bryce, Kristal, Kalea, Rayna, Gavin, Ella, Dylan, Devin, and Marcus. Darryl is also survived by his brother Stan and sisters Molly, Linda, and Margy.

Darryl’s final days were spent surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, a testament to the compassion he nurtured with his family throughout his life. His gentle demeanor, quick wit, and generous heart will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial service to celebrate Darryl’s life will be held on September 14, 2024, at 3:00 pm at the Taylor pavilion. Please bring a lawn chair for a campfire in the honour of Darryl to take place after the service.

Darryl’s legacy will continue through the lives he touched and the generosity and love he gave. He will forever remain in our hearts. Those wishing to make donations in Darryl's memory can do so to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation Cancer Treatment Fund.
