Obituary of Doug Reiswig

It is with heavy hearts the family of Douglas Keith Reiswig (Doug, Dougie, Papa) announce his passing on Tuesday August 6, 2024, at the age of 60. Doug passed peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Doug was born in Spirit River, Alberta on October 9, 1963. Brother Kendel followed 2 years later. The family relocated to Chetwynd, BC where Doug remained a resident for over 45 years. Doug spent over 20 years in the Oil and Gas Industry until his retirement in 2015.

Doug will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 24 years, Angie; children Lucas (Leslie), Sara (Jason) and Helena; grandchildren, Niko, Nia, Claire, Isla and Thomas. His mother Helen, brother Kendel (Kim) and nieces Kristen and Kaley as well as numerous extended family and friends.

Doug was predeceased by his father Keith, father-in-law Fred and mother-in-law Dianne.

At Doug’s request no service will be held, instead he would like his family to scatter his ashes at the family cemetery between his father and his beloved Uncle Rollie.

Doug was happiest when surrounded by family and friends and will be remembered for his amazing smile.

The Reiswig/Panoulias family would like to extend a special thank you to the Palliative Care Team and Dr. Mike Wright for their kindness, compassion and support. Their care allowed Doug to spend his final days at home visiting with his family and with the comfort of his beloved cats.
