Catherine was born in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on December 1, 1930 as the second oldest of ten children to Scotty and Rose MacDonald, where she lived until she moved with her family to Fort St. John, BC in 1959.
Catherine was predeceased by four sisters, Florence, Helen, Doris, and Sharon as well as three brothers, Ray, Graham, and Larry. She will be greatly missed by her sister Janet and brother Murray, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Catherine enjoyed a long working career in retail starting in late 1959 at the Five and Dime Store and continued on by joining Hudson Bay as manager of the women's and children's department, where she retired after 14 years. She subsequently owned and managed a convenience store known as Q-Mart for several years. She always had a passion for gift ware so for a few years she owned and operated The Gift Corner. Catherine accomplished all of this with only a grade eight education.
Catherine's retirement years were spent enjoying her flowers and vegetable garden, as well as spending winter months in Yuma, Arizona.
She will be missed by all of those whose lives she touched.
