Lane Aaron Helm, a beloved son, brother, father, and fiancé, passed away on April 24, 2024, in Fort St John, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on April 28, 1985, in Fort St John, Lane brought joy and warmth to the lives of all who knew him.
Lane's love for his family was immeasurable. He leaves behind his fiancé, Jenn Casey, who was the love of his life and his rock. Lane's devotion to his children, Rylan Helm, Peyton Helm, Connor Winter, Deklin Winter, and Keelhi Casey-Braun, was unwavering, and he took great pride in being a loving and supportive father, and his legacy will live on through them. His passing has left a void that can never be filled, and his family will forever hold him close in their hearts.
He was the cherished son of Martin Helm (pre-deceased) and Lori (Helm) Mcdonald and a loving brother to Jaime Helm Babineau, Cassidy Walsh, Aysia Walsh, and
Kaiden Walsh. Lane's love for his family was evident in every aspect of his life, and his siblings will always remember him as a source of strength, laughter, and unwavering support.
In addition to his immediate family, Lane is survived by his paternal grandparents, as well as various aunts, uncles, and cousins who held a special place in his heart. His impact on their lives will never be forgotten, and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
Lane's passion for nature and outdoor activities was a defining part of his life. Whether he was hiking through the serene wilderness, exploring the great outdoors in his 4X4 crawler, or hunting and biking, Lane found solace and joy in the beauty of the natural world. His love for reading and collecting rocks, especially heart-shaped ones, reflected his deep appreciation for the simple pleasures in life.
Lane was a dedicated and respected employee of Rivers Sand and Gravel, where he poured his heart and soul into his work. His commitment to his profession and his colleagues was evident to all who knew him. Prior to that, he worked in the oil field industry alongside his uncles, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked with.
A celebration of Lane's life will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Cecil Lake Community Hall, located at 4864 Cecil Lake Road. This will be an opportunity for all who knew and loved Lane to come together, share memories, and find solace in each other's company, with tea and a luncheon to follow. For those unable to attend, you may pay your respects at Cecil Lake Cemetery.
