Obituary of Robert Murray Russell

Robert Murray Russell (Bob) November 7, 1940 - March 15, 2024 (83 years old)

Robert Murray Russell was born on November 7, 1940 in Fort William to Walter and Rita Russell where his parents owned a general store. In the late 60's Bob met Viola Dennis in Fort St. John, BC at the Condill Hotel. This is where his life bagan with the Dennis family. Not long after meeting, Bob moved with Viola to Fort Nelson, BC where they lived the rest of their lives together. 

Bob's passion was prospecting and collecting many rocks and minerals. He could spend hours talking about them. When Bob wasn't with his precious collection, you could find him sitting outside the A&W having a coffee with his long-time and best friend Johnny. That was until Tim Hortons rolled into town which then became their new hang out. 

On behalf of the Dennis family, we would like to thank Mike for being there for Bob and for taking him to his appointments during his battle with cancer. Bob is survived by many friends and family in Fort Nelson, BC and is now reunited with his wife Viola Mercy Dennis and his beloved Russell family. 

Funeral service for Bob will take place Tuesday, April 9th at 11:00 am at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with interment to follow at the Fort Nelson Cemetery.
