Obituary of Bonnie Bee Swaile
With deep sorrow, we share the passing of Bonnie Bee Swaile on March 21, 2024.
Bonnie was born in Burns Lake on October 30th, 1964, where she lived until the family moved
to Fort Nelson in 1978. It was in Fort Nelson that Bonnie met and married Mike whom she
would spend the rest of her life and would have celebrated 40 years of marriage this July. In
1984 their first daughter Kyla was born and then Jenna in 1986. Their lives would be spent
between Fort Nelson and Chilliwack for 13 years and then finally back to Fort Nelson for
Bonnies remaining years.
Bonnie loved to write and had an imagination like no other. Her imagination and creativity will
be the fondest memories of her 4 grandchildren. The 4 of them remember how she used to
make up games and play with them, watch cartoons with them and tell them stories.
Bonnie loved to fish with her Dad. She was always looking forward to a trip out to Burns Lake
to camp and fish with her Dad and especially loved the annual Ootsa Lake Fishing Derby and
was so thrilled to have won it in 2013. She loved spending time with her family in Burns Lake
when she could and talked about her fishing trips often.
Bonnie loved animals. She loved her Border Collies and always had a few cats wandering
around. After moving to the acreage in Fort Nelson Bonnie took an interest in wild birds and
squirrels whom she would feed religiously and watch for hours on her back deck. She loved a
nice day.
Bonnie will be remembered for her sense of humour. She was always cracking a joke and
making people laugh. She was always unapologetically herself and if you didn’t like it she
didn’t care. The family will always have fond memories of all the laughs that were had when
Bonnie was around.
