Obituary of Veronika Gallinger

Obituary Ronnie was born and grew up on her parent?s farm near Mossbank, Sask. She attended the Green Bay School. School in a classroom was finished at grade 8 and two more years were done by correspondence which was common in rural areas at that time.Moving to Moose Jaw, Ronnie continued her studies to become a qualified secretary. She worked for a law office for a short time and then became a Court Reporter and stenographer for the Moose Jaw City Police. Ronnie was married in 1949, eventually moving to Assiniboia. Three sons were born, Gary, Lyle and Douglas. Gary is married to Maureen and they have three children, Evelyn, Deanna and Mike. They also provide Ronnie with three great grandchildren, Chelsea, Katie and Tyler. Lyle and his wife Laura have three children, Wesley, Sarah and Sam. Doug and Shelly Gallinger have three children as well, Kim, Caitlyn and Michael.In 1963 the family moved to Fort St. John. In 1964 Ronnie became well known as a Secretary in the local District Agriculturist?s office. From November of 1964 to March of 1988 Ronnie provided training and leadership to over fifteen Agriculturist.Ronnie was involved in many organizations, the livestock association, the North Peace Bee Keepers Association, and 4-H just to name a few. Ronnie was given a Meritorius Service award in recognition of 23 years of loyal and devoted service with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. In 1984 she was recognized by the North Peace 4-H Senior Council for twenty years of service. In 1990 she was also recognized for her dedication to the B.C. Provincial Seed Fair. In her spare time Ronnie became involved in the B.C. Government Employee?s Union. While all of this was going on, Ronnie became an active member of the New Democratic Party. She worked hard for their causes. These are remarkable accomplishments when you consider they were done by one person and all at the same time.After retirement she enjoyed traveling to the coast and the prairie?s to visit family. Ronnie eventually moved into the Peace Lutheran Apartments. She became involved with the many activities that were provided. She regularly attended the Anglican Church.All of Ronnie?s friends remember her as a caring, loving person.
