I have known Doug since 1980. He was one of my first friends here when I moved to Fort St. John. We had great conversations at my kitchen table as I made him hot water and lemon, his favourite drink. He would rough-house with my kids and husband at that time, I still have a picture of him when we washed his face with snow! He always had time to chat and help out when we were building our house. Even though I was worried about his health he helped with pouring the cement for our garage in 1994. Doug also helped Rick many times at Transport Honda with computers and accounting when they first opened. In past few years I would see Doug at Tim Hortons or Wendy's and would give him trouble for eating fast food and threatened make him move in with us so I could cook healthy meals for him.Doug was truly a witness of Christianity to us and will be missd. I know he is happy in his better place.
We would like to send our sincere condolences to the Schoenenberger family. We met Doug in August 1979 when we first moved to Canada and started work at Spruceland Carpets .Doug and Rob were instrumental in our decision to make Canada our home.
