Obituary of Harold McNab
Obituary Harold Edwin McNab was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, on March 26th, 1936, to parents Clayton and Olga McNab. He passed away on June 6th, 2008 at home, in Cecil Lake, which was where he wanted to be.As a boy he lived with his grandparents in Saskatchewan until he was 13 and then ventured out on his own. Having been raised on the Prairies in the later part of the Depression, he knew some hard times from a very young age. These times contributed to the man that Harold was and made him the survivor we will always remember him for. Harold had two sisters, Jean Soper and Ann- Marie, who have also passed on. Harold was a man of few words and would help anyone while asking for nothing in return. He was very fond of his old pickups, cars, and motorcycle, He also loved to hunt and bought the finest rifles he could and cared for them meticulously. Harold was also a good farmer. He worked for George & Rose Robbins of Rose Prairie for a few years. After that he went back to the coast and worked for Len Lucas of Lucas Lumber in Cloverdale in the lumberyard. Then Lucas had him work the Lucas ranch at Westwold, BC for a few years. Harold was a hard working fella, and a good snowmobile and motorcycle mechanic. Harold married Marie Rose Hart, of Aldergrove, BC, on July 15th, 1967, after which they moved north and raised their family of three, Corrie, Connie and Ken, in Fort St. John.In 1986, Harold and Marie, with Ken, moved lock, stock and barrel, out to the Flatrock - Cecil Lake area. They seemed to thrive on this country way of life. After Marie passed away on September 30th, 2000, Harold was a very lonely man. It comforts his family to know they are together again.Harold cherished his family and had a deep respect for all of his friends and neighbours. He will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones. May he rest in peace.
