Obituary of Bill Richardson

Obituary Bill Richardson was born in High River Alberta May 21, 1939 to parents William and Mildred Richardson. Bill had three siblings; Bernice, Ruth and Mildred. From a young kid Bill had a passion for working with horses. By working on ranches in Southern Alberta Bill developed an unmatched talent for breaking and training horses. He stared rodeoing at the age of 15, competing in the Calgary Stampede every year. He also followed chuck wagons for more than twelve years. In 1962 Bill married Ruthie Nichol on the steps of the municipal building in Great Falls, Montana. In 1967 they moved north to Pink Mountain at mile 143 on the Cameron River. It wasn't long before Bill got the nickname Cameron Bill. After learning to run a grader Bill worked on the development of the Alaska Highway and even did some guiding up north on horseback. In 1971 Bill's first son Shiloh was born. Just shortly after the birth the family moved to rent a farm out at Boundary Lake. It was at this time Bill bought his first and only new tractor - little David Brown. In 1974 Bill and Ruth moved to Flatrock, finally owning a farm of their own. Just shortly after Bill's second son Lark was born. In the winter Bill worked in the oilpatch usually driving water truck or running a grader. He bought an old ford so he could run his own truck, "the old blue goose." To meet the requirements of the farm Bill then bought another old ford to hall grain and cattle, "Muk Tuk Annie." Bill was quickly known in the farming community for his animal skills. As part of Bill's entourage was his horse named Pride and his blue healer dog named Nicki. The three of them could herd, cut, chase and catch anything or anyone. Nature was a big part of Bill's life. Bill was a good friend and a great family man. He loved nothing more than a good conversation with good people. He was very involved with his family, showing his kids a different side of life. Both show and utilize key characteristics of their father that allow them to tackle anything they attempt. Married for over 46 years Bill and Ruthie have led an amazing life. Bill would always say how amazing Ruthie was... so amazing that she was always right. Life was by far luxurious, but it doesn't have to be when you're with the ones you love. Bill was a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Through his life experiences he will always be remembered and live on through stories by loved ones. Bill cherished his family and had a deep respect for all of his friends and neighbors. He will forever live on in the hearts of the ones he loved. May he rest in peace. Services
