Obituary of Shirley Mytopher

Obituary Shirley Ann Mytopher was born September 19, 1945 in Wolseley Saskatchewan to parent William and Pearl Spanier. Shirley was one of six children including twin sister Sharon Joan, who were all raised on the farm east of Sintaluta. Shirley attended school in the Red Fox district and loved to curl and ride horses. Shirley met Cliff while working at a small café in Wolseley. They were married on December 1, 1962 in Montmarte, Saskatchewan. Over the years they lived and worked in Rouleau, Saskatchewan, Lethbridge, Alberta and then finally here in the Peace River Country. It was here in the Peace that Shirley and Cliff settled into a life that they both loved. Operating the farm known as "Big Sky Farms" with its 25,000 acres of land required extra men to operate. This is where Shirley would shine. She loved to cook and while Cliff ran the farm, Shirley would cook three meals a day for the family and all hired hands. Eventually Cliff and Shirley bought a house in Fort St. John, were Shirley went to work at the Cedar Lodge. After a few years she left the Cedar Lodge making the move to the Fort St. John Motor Inn where she became Head Housekeeper and worked for the past sixteen years. Shirley and Cliff have four boys and twelve grandchildren. Richard and Susan with their children Kara, Devan and Braidan, David and Terry with their children Travis and Tyler, Terry and Kathy with their children Tara, Christopher, McKinna and Hannah and Clifford with his children Taya, Kialee and Lexus. Shirley loved her children and grandchildren, calling on them almost every day just to say "Hi", find out what everyone was up to and how they were doing. She was very devoted to her family, a great wife, mother and grandmother, a loyal friend and a loving sister. Life varies its stories for each of us and time changes everything. Yet what is truly valuable, what is worth keeping, is beyond death, beyond time. Living a successful life means making our tomorrows better than our todays. Shirley has achieved success in her life because she lived it well, she laughed often and much. She had the respect and love of her family and friends, she filled her duties and accomplished the task of living, she looked for the best in others and gave the best she had. Shirley has left the world a better place than she found it and we will cherish our memories and honor her life, a successful life. Shirley is predeceased by her mother and father Pearl and William Spanier, her mother and father-in-law Ann and Nick Mytopher, her brother Thomas Spanier, Her sister-in-law Genevieve Spanier and her brother-in-law Mervyn Mytopher. It gives us great comfort in knowing these people were there to welcome Shirley home, saying "You have left a strong and able family to cherish your life. Now come and sit with us a while, it's good to have you Home!" Services
