Obituary of Ingeborg Jackson
Obituary Ingeborg Gudren Barstad Jackson, also known as Inx, was born January 14, 1914, in Glasgow, Montana. Inx passed away at the age of 94 in the North Peace Care Home on Monday, November 24. She was born to Tov and Birgit Barstad and started school at the age of four with her older sister. She graduated at sixteen and went to teacher's college and got her teacher's certificate. At the age of eighteen she started teaching in a one room school house. In 1938 she married Robert Jackson and continued teaching, raised her family, and enjoyed working on the farm. In 1968 she and her family moved to Fort St. John, where she continued to teach at Charlie Lake Elementary School for ten years. In 1980 Inx retired from teaching. After that, her time was spent gardening, enjoying her raspberry patch, and volunteering at the North Peace Care Home. Inx is survived by her daughters Linda (Charles) and Cheryl (Earl), her son Chester (Char), her sister, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert, her daughter Roberta Kay, one brother and three sisters.
