Obituary of Frances Wilson
Obituary Frances Vivian Wilson "And in the end it is not the years in your life that countIt is the life in your years" Frances Vivian Hall was born on November 11, 1931 at the Red Cross Outpost Hospital in Grandhaven, BC to parents Frank and Lucy Hall. After her birth, Frances was taken to the family farm in North Pine, BC. The little log house became home to Frances and her siblings, Leila, Frankie, Grantley, Barbara, Dennis, Mary and Carol. Growing up on the farm, Fran learned how to work hard; picking berries, making butter, sawing wood, hauling water, wash laundry and other house hold tasks. Fran attended North Pine School which she walked to everyday, having many adventures to and from school and the General Store. In 1948, Fran met Bert and the two were married July 18, 1950. Fran and Bert then moved to their farm at Rose Prairie. They farmed the land in the summers and in the winters they moved to the logging camps up the Alaska Highway. In 1955, Bert and Fran chose to stay home and farm full time. Fran enjoyed raising chickens, turkeys and making butter which she sold as well as cream and eggs. Fran's special pride was her garden and her yard. Fran grew a beautiful garden which she loved to harvest every fall, pick fresh berries and make preserves for the winter. Fran was an excellent cook and baker, winning several prizes at the Fall Fair. Fran and Bert were blessed with four daughters and one son. Barbara was born 1957, Debra in 1958, Kathy in 1962, Dennis in 1964 and Terri in 1966. On December 5, 1965 they lost their precious son suddenly at only 18 months of age. This was extremely devastating, but with courage and love they moved on with their lives. In December 1961, they moved into their new three bedroom home which Bert built. It was quite a change having running water, electricity and a propane furnace. This was home for 47 years. Over the long winter months she would prepare her seed orders for spring which was a favorite time for her. Fran enjoyed playing cards, scrabble, music, doing puzzles, reading and spending time with her friends and family. There would always be fresh coffee and baked goods for anyone who stopped by. Fran also enjoyed travelling. At least three times a year they would go to Barb and Ted's home in Alberta. In 1988 a holiday took them to Hawaii, Fiji and Australia for three weeks. Fran passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, January 3, 2009 in the Fort St. John Hospital surrounded by her four daughters. Those that will remember dearly this wonderful lady are her daughters; Barbara and her husband Ted, their three children Lisa and her husband Lane, Carmen and Kyle; Debra and her two children Trevor and his wife Lori and their son Kayden, Jamie and Kent and her daughter Tyanna; Kathy and her husband Craig and their two children Dailyn and Bryce; Terri and her husband David and their two children Travis and Tyler.
