Obituary of Noreen Blais

Obituary Noreen Helen (Aseltine) Blais passed away February 9, 2009 in the Fort St. John General Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. Noreen was born September 4, 1933 in Grande Prairie, Alberta to William and Viola Aseltine. After multiple moves during her childhood Noreen returned to Grande Prairie to visit her Grandmother and fell in love at first sight with William (Bill) Blais. Bill and Noreen were married May 31, 1952, and were the proud parents to a daughter Fay, April 1953, and a son Les, September 1954. Bill promised Noreen in 1955 that they would only come to Fort St. John for "one year" and never left. Noreen was very involved in the community and her church. While raising her family she also worked for Fort Pharmacy and Flowers by Tamee. Noreen loved camping and fishing; she was in her own world enjoying God's beauty and enjoyed watched her grandchildren and great grandchildren share in her love of the outdoors. She was also a very avid golfer. It was nothing for her to do 18-27 holes of golf before lunch. She loved the competitiveness and enjoyed teaching others her love of the game. She and Bill enjoyed all the family's sports events from hockey, baseball, gold, track and field to bowling. Noreen's personal motto was "family first". She was a mom, grandmother, great grandmother and a good friend to many. She always had lots of love to share. Always open arms, hugs and kisses, and often said she was a hugger, not a shaker. Noreen is pre-deceased by the love of her life Bill, and together they will watch over their children and families; Marcel and Fay (Blais) Brule, Les and Paulette (Brule) Blais. Grandchildren Jean and Ardith (Thompson) Brule, Daniel and Tara (Salmond) Brule, Ron Gilmore and Debra Brule, Jarett and Michelle (Brule) Callison, Dean and Kim (Blais) Emond, Darin and Chantal (Blais) Neilsen. Great Grandchildren, Emily and Cody Brule, Kierra and Kietron Brule, Brandon and Jeremy Gilmore, Daysie, Cortt, and Resse Callison, and the two great grandchildren on the way in March and June. She was so proud of her family. Services
