Obituary of Lloyd Callison

Obituary JAMES LLOYD CALLISON GRANDPA WAS BORN IN TROCHU, ALBERTA SEPTEMBER 12, 1914 TO PARENTS FRANK AND EDITH CALLISON. HE WAS A LITTLE BROTHER TO HATTIE. WHEN HE WAS FOUR, THE FAMILY MOVED TO SASKATOON LAKE, ALBERTA, WHERE BETTY WAS BORN, THEN A FEW YEARS LATER THEY MOVED TO THE RIO GRANDE AREA, WHERE RUTH WAS BORN.ON MAY 22, 1929, THE FAMILY LEFT THE RIO GRANDE IN THEIR WAGON AND HEADED NORTH, ARRIVING IN ROSE PRAIRIE ON JUNE 14. DESPITE WORKING ALL OVER THE NORTHERN PART OF THE PROVINCE AND INTO THE TERRITORIES, GRANDPA MANAGED TO FIND HIS ONE TRUE LOVE AND ON AUGUST 25, 1944 GRANDPA AND GRANDMA WERE MARRIED. THAT SAME YEAR GRANDPA BOUGHT HIS FIRST QUARTER OF LAND, FOLLOWED BY THE LAND HE BOUGHT WHERE GRANDPA AND GRANDMA MADE THEIR HOME. ROSE PRAIRE WAS GRANDPA'S HOME FOR 70 YEARS. IN 1999, GRANDPA AND GRANDMA MOVED OFF THE FARM TO FORT ST. JOHN.IN 1947 THEY WELCOMED THEIR FIRST SON PAT, FOLLWED BY CLAYTON IN 1949, AND THEN DAUGHTER MAXINE IN 1952.IN 1953 GRANDPA ACCEPTED THE LORD AND GRANDPA AND GRANDMA WERE BOTH BAPTIZED IN THE BEATTON RIVER AT THE CECIL LAKE CROSSING.GRANDPA WAS AN ELDER IN THE ROSE PRAIRIE CHURCH FOR MANY YEARS. THEY HOSTED MANY MISSIONARIES AND SPECIAL SPEAKERS AND HE NEVER GOT TIRED OF VISITING WITH THEM. AFTER GRANDPAS'S 90TH BIRTHDAY, HIS HEALTH STARTED FAILING AND A YEAR LATER HE HAD TO GO INTO THE CARE HOME. EVERYDAY GRANDMA WOULD GO TO HELP HIM WITH HIS SUPPER AND HE ALWAYS WAITED FOR HER ANXIOUSLY. AUNTIE MAXINE WAS ALSO THERE FOR ANYTHING GRANDPA NEEDED. OUR FAMILY WOULD LIKE TO GIVE THE STAFF AT THE CARE HOME OUR MOST HEARTFELT THANKS FOR THE CARE AND ASSISTANCE THEY GAVE GRANDPA OVER THE YEARS. THEIR THOUGHTFULNESS WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED AND APPRECIATED.ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 2, THE FAMILY GATHERED AROUND AND WERE WITH HIM FOR HIS LAST DAY ON EARTH, HE QUIETLY PASSED AWAY AT 11:00 IN THE EVENING.GRANDPA IS SURVIVED BY HAZEL, HIS WIFE OF 65 YEARS; SON PAT AND WIFE JACKIE AND THEIR THREE CHILDREN, CORINA, HER HUSBAND, FRANK, AND THEIR THREE SONS, MATHIAS, EDWARD AND JAMES. BARBARA, HER HUSBAND LONNIE AND THEIR DAUGHTERS DAYNA AND SYDNEY; AND BRENT AND HIS WIFE DEBBIE . SON CLAYTON AND WIFE DORENE AND THEIR CHILDREN, LISA, HER HUSBAND CURTIS AND DAUGHTER BRYLEE; GRANT, HIS WIFE TONI AND THEIR CHILDREN, LANE, DAYLYN AND CASHLYN; GARNET, HIS WIFE CHANDRA AND THEIR CHILDREN KASSIDY AND CAMERON; AND JARETT, HIS WIFE MICHELLE AND THEIR CHILDREN DAYSIE, CORTT AND REESE. DAUGHTER MAXINE AND HUSBAND FRANK AND THEIR CHILDREN CLINTON AND SHELLEY AND HER HUSBAND CHAD AND THEIR DAUGHTERS DREW AND DAYLE. GRANDPA IS ALSO SURVIVED BY HIS SISTERS, RUTH CARLSON AND BETTY PETERSON AND BY HIS BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN LAW - JIM AND JUDY WILSON, MARGARET DOOL, ALEC AND CHARLENE WILSON, ALAN AND BONNIE WILSON AND HARVEY THOMAS AS WELL AS MANY NIECES AND NEPHEWS AND FRIENDS.
