Obituary of James Keil
Obituary James (Jim) Christopher Keil was born on May 27, 1963, in Wetaskiwin, Alberta to John Edward Christopher Keil & Evelyn Rose Burzminski. Jim suddenly passed away on April 8, 2010 in Fort Nelson, British Columbia at 46 years of age. Jim graduated from Campbell Collegiate high school in Regina, in 1981. After finishing high school Jim went onto work for CP Rail. Jim's career began with Western Rock Bit in 1982 in Slave Lake and then Brooks. Jim had a brief exit from WRB where he tried out his entrepreneurial skills, Jim returned to Western Rock Bit in 1986 where he opened a new stock point in Peace River. Finally arriving in Fort St. John in 1988 and then onto his agency in Fort Nelson in 1995. Jim was tenacious when it came to selling; there was no moss that grew under Jim's feet. He had tremendous integrity and believed in the product he was selling and would do anything to meet the client's expectations. Jim just didn't just get respect, he earned respect. In August of 1990 Jim and Romy started their life together. They were married in Kelowna British Columbia. They had three blessings in their lives; first in 1992 when they had Jamie, then in 1994 when Charlie arrived and years later in 2001 when they had Jeffrey. Some of Jim's hobbies were camping, fishing and flying. It was not uncommon for Jim to deliver the odd drill bit by plane. Jim lived his life to the fullest. He was a fan of Howard Hughes, and was about creativity, ideas and competitiveness. He loved fly fishing and holidays with his family. He found passion in everything; gourmet cooking, presentations, and most of all, the Horn River project. He was a great husband, a father, a great partner, and a teacher. He made all of us a team. He left us his passion, strength, and encouragement to never give up on your dreams. We will miss his unforgettable smile, his warmth, and his touch; the wonderful meals, on birthdays and family gatherings. His dream was our dream. A memorial service for Jim was held on Friday, April 16th, 2010 from Hamre's Funeral Chapel in Fort St. John, British Columbia. The family wishes for you to make donations in memory of Jim to the charity of your choice. Jim will be sadly missed by all. We all love you and thank you for helping to create all those great memories!
