Obituary of John St. Denis

Obituary John St. DenisOctober 24, 1933-July 12, 2010 John was born Joseph Damien Jean Yves St. Denis in 1933 in Sarsfield, Ontario. He was the eldest of 7 children. After attending the Technical School in Ottawa, where he learned the basics of Mechanics and Construction, John enrolled in the Air Force. John gave the Air Force 22 years of his life before retiring and moving west to Alberta. John was living in Lac La Biche, and in 1979 was working in the Fort St. John area as a Mechanic when he met his true love, Jean Danyluk. After a long courtship they were married in Fort St. John in December of 1988. In 1991 they decided to move to Fort St. John to be closer to their grandsons. John especially loved the Peace River for its beauty and strength, and he made a few trips up it in river boats. Whenever John had sisters come to visit from Ontario, he would be sure to take them to the look outs so they could have a view of the valley and all its beauty. John continued to work as a mechanic in Fort St. John until his retirement in 1999. John stayed busy doing woodwork, and fixing things for people. He was always building or carving something and was known for his airplanes, birdhouses and his Angel wind chimes! John passed away suddenly on July 12th, 2010 and is survived by his wife Jean, Step-son Gene (Rose) Danyluk, Step-Daughter Linda Pope, Grandsons Riley and Tegan Danyluk, sisters Lucille (Carmel), Louise, Henrietta (Richard) Aline (Roger) and many Nieces and Nephews in Ontario. "John, enjoy the journey on your Last River Run!" Services
