Obituary of Michael John MacDonald

Obituary Michael John MacDonald, 53, of Fort St. John passed away December 11, 2010 at the Fort St. John General Hospital. Mike was born in Comox, British Columbia, the sixth child and first son to Annie and Kenneth V. MacDonald. He moved to Miscouche, Prince Edwards Island in 1962, and graduated from Three Oaks High School in Summerside, PEI. On May 17, 1986 in Mulgrave, Nova Scotia, Mike married his best friend, Sharon Ryan. Mike completed his Pipefitter/Plumbing Trade in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Throughout his working career, Mike worked all across Canada finally "putting down roots" in Fort St. John in 1993. For the past 15 years, Mike was a dedicated and valued employee of Macro Industries. Mike loved life and lived each day to its fullest. He will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him. His wonderful smile, hearty laughter, positive attitude and enormous "zest for life" will be missed by everyone. Mike touched the lives of everyone he met. He is gone but will never be forgotten. We love you. Rest in Peace! Mike is predeceased by his father Kenneth V., mother Annie (McKenzie), and his four sisters in infancy; Judy, Florence, Claire and Marion. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Sharon (Ryan), his precious children; daughter Katelyn & son Kendall, his sisters Mary Peters (Dennis), Kaye (David), Anne and his brother Robert. Mike is also survived by the wonderful Ryan family and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life was held Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 1:00pm from the Stonebridge Hotel Banquet Room, Fort St. John, BC. Memorial service and final interment will be held in Miscouche, PEI in January of 2011. Donations in memory of Mike can be made to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation towards the Palliative Care Unit, 9636 100 Ave, Fort St. John, BC V1J 1Y3.
