I have SO many awesome memories of Uncle Gordy! When Dad worked out in FSJ for the winters mom and I were out there quite a bit, which meant I was with Uncle Gordy quite a bit! Dad was always driving truck and I didn't spend much time with hiim which meant Uncle Gordy became my second Dad while we were out there especially the winter we lived in FSJ. My fondest memory was when Uncle Gordy and I went to Tim Horton's for coffee and we took our truck. We made it through the drive through and came to the main road. The sign in front of us said "NO LEFT TURN" Uncle Gordy says to me, "we have your truck right?" I was somewhat shocked and said "well ya"! "Ok then that means we have Saskatchewan FARM plates, we can do whatever we want to do!" By the way.. we definately turned left!! haha Only Uncle Gordy would say and do that! We made many trips there in the summer as well, these involved trips back out to the Halfway, andmany other trips up north with Uncle Gordy as our travel guide! Another fond memory was when Uncle Gordy, Dad and I went fishing at the Hallfway and had a weiner roast. A great visit and at this time, I felt like I had 2 dad's!!We all know that Uncle Gordy LOVED watching hockey and so do I! Uncle Gordy and I always had a deal that when the Stanley Cup Playoffs were on there would soon be a phone call between us. When the finals came around a bet of usually $5 came around but once I got older, the bet was raised to $10!! We would phone each other and chat for quite some time before we rememered that the reason we were calling each other. Uncle Gordy would always let me pick my team and he would take the other! We would then watch every game intently and after a game where one team may have got beat pretty bad, a phone call from the winning side would come to rub it in quite a bit! After the finals, the loser would put the money in the mail with a short letter! Ps.. I was usually sending the money! hahaThere are so many memories that I have of Uncle Gordy and this barely touches on them all! I am going to miss Uncle Gordy SO much, but he will be loved forever!!Thanks for everything that you taught me Uncle Gordy and all the good visits we had!! We talked for hours and laughed for just as long as well!! You will forever be in my heart!See ya later Uncle Gordy!! LOVE Travis!

Our Deepest Sympathy to the family!and to Everyone who knew Gordon and loved him! I will miss his laugh!!Gordon had the gift of making people around him feel Good! I remember when I was in the hospital in Saskatoon I just gave birth to Coralee.Gordon went to see his Mom in Nipawin that Easter and we had some bad weather. Aunty Gladys didn't want to drive but Gordon did he insisted it was only a couple hours he wanted to see Robert and Tammy's first baby. Gordon would always go that extra mile for people. We were so happy to see him at the hospital. When we had Jordan-Gordon said to Robert-"Did you name him after me" Robert said "ya we changed the G to a J because we thought one Gordon in the family was enough" Gordon laughed and said"he looks just like you Robert" and Robert said"He acts just like you Gordon" They had a really good laugh about that and Gordon said"Oh-Oh You are in for it now" Gordon was a lot of fun and could really take some good natured ribbing-we will miss him!

I should have added that this is myself, Nadine, and Gordie. The picture that I do not have, of course, was from moments earlier when Gordie pretended to jerk this lumberjack off. Always good for a laugh that Gordie.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all your family, Gord, and in particular with your Mom, Gladys, and your brother, Al, and his wife Vi, and their family. It is never easy to say "Good-Bye" to a loved one, and we know that their hearts are hurting in this moment. The wonderful memories you created with them will help sustain them through this time, and in the future. Our love to all,Laura (Vi's sister) and Richard, and our family-------------------------------------memories and messages---------------------------------------------Hey Gord - you were great for laughs! I remember the storytelling at Tanis' wedding in Toronto and at your Mom's 80th birthday celebrations in Codette. Your love of the north bush country, your family, and fun were such an integral part of the man you were. You loved jokes...so here's a few,..I can already hear your laughter.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------AT YOUR FUNERAL: Three friends die in a car accident and they go to an orientation in heaven. They are all asked, "When you are in your casket and friends and family are mourning you, what would you like to hear them say about you? The first guy says,"I would like to hear them say that I was a great doctor of my time, and a great family man." The second guy says, "I would like to hear that I was a wonderful husband and school teacher which made a huge difference in our children of tomorrow." The last guy replies, "I would like to hear them say ... Look, He's Moving!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------COMEUPPANCE: A man and his wife are doing yard work. The husband says to his wife, "your rear end is as wide as a grill." She ignores the remark. A little later, the husband takes his measuring tape and measures the grill....then he goes over to his wife while she is bending working in a flower bed.....he measures her rear end and gasps, "geez, it really IS as wide as the grill." Later that night while in bed her husband starts to feel frisky. She calmly responds, "if you think I'm going to fire up the grill for one little weiner, you are mistaken! ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- STINGY OLD MAN: A stingy old man who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness was determined to prove wrong the old saying, "You can't take it with you." After much thought and consideration, the old ambulance chaser finally figured out how to take at least some of his money with him when he died. He instructed his wife to go to the bank and withdraw enough money to fill two pillowcases. He then directed her to take the bags of money to the attic and leave them directly above his bed. His plan: When he passed away, he would reach out and grab the bags on his way to heaven. Several weeks after the funeral, the deceased man's wife, up in the attic cleaning came upon the two forgotten pillowcases stuffed with cash. "Oh, that old fool," she exclaimed. "I knew he should have had me put the money in the basement."-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------NEW SECRETARY: The manager hired a new secretary. She was young, sweet and polite. One day while taking dictation, she noticed his fly was open. While leaving the room, she courteously said, "Oh by the way sir, did you know that your barracks door is open? He did not understand her remark, but later on he happened to look down and saw that his zipper was open. He decided to have some fun with his new employee. Calling her in, he asked, "By the way Miss Jones, when you saw my barracks door open, did you also see a soldier standing at attention?" The secretary, who was quite witty replied, "Why no sir, all I saw was a little disabled veteran sit

I would like to extend my sympathy to all of Gordie's family. I am very sorry that I cannot attend the funeral on Tuesday but I am so happy we got to spend the day with you in November.I have posted a couple of pictures that I found in an old album of mine. Gordie is four years older than me. When we were young we would go up to Lower Fishing Lake in the summer and as many of you know Gordie was like a fish in the water. He used to make me laugh, play in the sand with me and of course do crazy things in the water which lead to the saying I had for him "Gorder in the warder". Gordie is in the right tube, Larry in the left, Bonnie on the left on the hill and the little blondie is me. He reminded me of that saying at his mom's birthday and again this fall. Gordie had a very kind heart and was always willing to share. He would take a little of the money he had earned from his paper route put my brother Jim in the basket of his bike and me on the seat holding onto his waist and away we would go up to Mooney's on the hill in Nipawin for ice cream or fries.. We spent lots of time together as we were growing up he always had a twinkle is eye and a smile on his face, sometimes it got him out of trouble and sometimes it got him into trouble! But in the end you would just have to laugh and smile with him.Once Gordie moved out to BC I didn't get to see him as often but would meet at a family event and many new stories were created at these functions and old ones were told again.Just to remind some of my cousins of some of the incidents: Bonnie's wedding "I am a lamp", Harry's wedding "Nursing the baby", Allan and Margarets anniversary "Shane did you get a new wife" plus there are many more. Gordie would start to smile at all of these as they were told and add more of his stories. We will all miss your smile, humor and laughter but mostly the twinkle that would dance in your eyes. Gordie I loved you.Your cousin Gayle
