I knew Larry in 1987-1990 and worked with him at the co-op. May heart is absolutely breaking today. I've thought of my dear friend often and thought, hey, I'm going to look him up. Can't believe I missed my chance to ever see him again. I'm far away in PEI, but would have flown out in a second if I'd known he was sick. I have missed him deeply for a long time. Larry was the warmest, kindest, funniest man I ever new. So very caring and real. My heart goes to his children, Laurie, Aarin and Scott. I know how much he loved you. I'm so heartbroken. I loved you Larry.

Not a day will go by that Uncle Larry's smile & laugh will be missed. Such a generous, kind person has been lost far too soon. Always willing to lend a hand or help out in some way, whether he was there to help me fix a flat at his service station, or buy many many boxes of girl guide cookies that he didn't even like! I had the the honor of meeting Larry in 1999, and worked for him for seven years, he was so much more then a boss to me, he was a friend and someone I had great respect for. Hi Laurie Aarin and Scott and family So sorry I couldn't be there for Uncle Larry's gathering. But my thoughts and prayers are with you all. I love to laugh like Uncle Larry did. I'll never forget it was his 50 th birthday,my sister Jill was up from Lashburn and we went to Casey's Pub. Jill walks in and everyone goes hey Jill good to see you and she hadn't lived in F.S.J. for 10 or more years and then they ask me are you new to town and I lived here for more than 10 years and we all started laughing, and uncle Larry hugged me and said i haven't heard that laugh since I was a young boy he said Heather you put chills down my back you laugh just like my grandma MacDonald (great). That 's when I said is that the lady in the poster from the family reunion, hes goes yes , I said I look like her Man i got to get thin, I started laughing again. As a little girl he was so cool because he played hockey I think with bobby orr. When he used to come home to Hillmond He would skate out on the slue with us kids, he always had alot of love and laughter to spread around and the best thing was he could always light up anyones eyes. sorry for your loss and please send my prayers to Aunt Ann also. Laurie, Aarin and Scott,We were very sorry to have learned about Larry`s departure last week. It is so sad and we will miss him very much. Every time we went to Fort St. John it was a pleasure for us to meet with Larry and exchange about different events happening in his life and in yours the ones he loved so much. We would have loved to meet him again this year but it was not possible. We went to mass and lit some candles for him so God gives him the courage to live through his illness and the strength to accept things that could not be changed. Our thoughts are with you and we pray God that He gives you the courage and the strength to go in life thinking of that father who will always be close to you in your heart. My Mom too was taken with Cancer in July/10 (Darlene Villeneuve) much to young also. When Uncle Larry joined the family he brought with him many interestng stories.(We all know what those were). He lighted up the room when he came and we were always rolling with laughter when he was heading out the door. That spirit followed him to the Red Wood Esso and when you entered, you were usually met the latest racist joke(which you could not resist) --- followed by gut wrentching laughter. He would then ask how I was doing and call me a squaw. I would be heading out the door with a See Ya Wagon Burner. This happened every week for years. How do you replace this stuff. Larry was a man with an infectious personality when you spent time with him you always walked away with a smile. He was kind,caring,and happy individual who I was fortunate enough to have in my life. ... Larry wasn't really my Uncle.... but I called him that always... it always brought a big grin from him... I remember the time I had everyone at the Redwood Esso convinced that he WAS my Uncle & that surely meant the coffee was free...!!! & when it was minus 30, he was quick to say ...come sit in my pickup & have your smoke ... you'll freeze your ****** ass off ... !!!! nothing but great memories & sad as I am , I know Uncle Larry is no longer in pain & rests in peace .... with love & prayers Terry Elliott .... when Uncle Larry shared a story or a colorful joke he would always look over both shoulders to make sure only those who should hear did hear.. many great laughs were started by him & repeated by many...
