Obituary of Dorothy Swanberg

Obituary Dorothy Annie Swanberg of Fort St. John passed away on June 24, 2012 at the age of 80. Dorothy was born to parents Archibald and Norah Burnard in Daysville, Saskatchewan on March 9, 1932. As a young girl, Dorothy attended Daysville Elementary and later as a teen attended Blackfoot High. As Dorothy matured into a young adult she met and married Sylvan Swanberg on August 13, 1960 in the little town of Dawson Creek, British Columbia and worked as a nurse's aid. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Archibald and Norah Burnard, husband Sylvan, sisters May Potter, Nellie Doucette and Clara Ramstead and her brothers Eddie and Steve Burnard and her nephew Kevin Potter. Dorothy leaves to mourn Dean (Sheilah), Loran (Tanya), Ann (Tony) Sawyer, Sharon (Charlie) Hopkins and Joan, her grandchildren Randi (Todd) Alexander, Lora, Jared and Riley Swanberg, Konnor Sawyer, Luke and Katie Hopkins, great- grandchildren Maddie and Trae Alexander, her sister Frances (Lyall) Edwards, as well as, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and many friends. Dorothy will be greatly missed. The family invites those who are unable to attend the funeral service to join them for refreshments and a time of sharing immediatly following the graveside service at the Catholic Church of the Resurrection Immaculate Center. Expressions of sympathy can be made in memory of Dorothy to the Fort St. John Palliative Care Society.
