Obituary of Harold Brown

Obituary They say actions speak louder than words and all those who knew Harold can attest to his generous nature. Without any hesitation he lent a helping hand and gave what was his to others without expecting anything in return. He had an uncanny way of always showing up at the right time to help others, and always went that extra mile providing meals, even a home at times for those going through a rough patch. He always said material things never mattered, just people. And he really did put this into practise all throughout his life through his actions and even his words - lifting others up by letting them know they were important and capable of great things. He was a go getter early in life. He never wanted to lose a race to his older sister and cousins going to meet the mail he jumped into the truck at age 5 , started the truck and was able to manage the clutch and steering wheel by leaping from floor to seat, he wasn't getting left behind. He liked challenge and adventure. Harold was a bit of a daredevil to say the least, driving in the stock car races with his cousin, Noble. Or horse wrangling with his family as Guide and Outfitters at Bucking Horse and up in Nevis Creek, Muncho Lake, and Toad. He also did Gold Mining in Wells BC, and he built his own Sluice Box, Bluegrass Bus, and the large outboard motor that pulled 4 water skiers at once. Harold was a great mechanic that some said could fix anything with just some binder twine. Harold never let losing one of his legs slow him down. When he was told he could not get a prosthetic leg because of the continued swelling. He decided that we would build his own, and so he did. Harold was helping to shingle roofs and fixing tractors and built a green house in no time. His playful and supportive spirit, good nature, great strength and his ability to bounce back when faced with adversity will be greatly missed. He was always there when we needed him. Harold is survived by his wife Lois, his two daughters Cindy (John Brule), and April (Clint Hopkins), his son Dan Brown, his brother Terry Brown (Marilynn), his two sisters Penny Babcock, Peggy Brown (Kelly), his five grandsons, Shad, Mitchell, Kylen, Bryden, Joryn, and his one granddaughter, Brytnee-Lynn. As well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and an adopted family that he was always proud of.
