Dennis would have been absolutely humbled and honoured by all the kind memories shared by so many. Thank-you to all of you who were an integral part of our lives as students, friends and colleagues. Also, thank-you so much for the many beautiful flowers that filled our home. I am sorry I don't have addresses to send a response to some of you, but your kindness is deeply appreciated. Many thanks,Shirley and family

Shirley, I'm so sorry to hear that Dennis passed away. I didn't know... would have gone to the funeral. I remember being in the Math, Science and Tech diploma program with you two. His dry sense of humour and understated understated wit always made me grin. All my best, Elaine McEachern.

So sorry I will miss the funeral, but Dennis taught all my kids at school and the boys said Dennis was the one to beat at the annual Terry Fox run because he was the fastest runner. He also got the kids running in the morning for a while, which really motivated the kids for sports and athleticism. I remember how he would be helping with extra curricular events for the kids. Spent so much time helping. He will never be forgotten.

So sorry for your loss. I will always be grateful I had a chance to get to know Dennis. His genuine caring for those around him always shone through in in all did. He always took time to slow down to share a kind word and give a helping hand. My thoughts are with you at this very difficult time.

To your whole family, I am very sorry for your loss. I always enjoyed visiting with Dennis at school sports, at hockey or in workshops and will miss that greatly.

My first year of teaching was during his last few years at Upper Pine and he went out of his way many times to show me the ropes (Mac programs, report cards etc) or give me a tip or two. A man of integrity, humour and class, he will never be forgotten. His loss is truly great, but I consider myself blessed to have gotten to know him as a friend. If I could turn out to be half the man that Dennis Peters was then I would consider it a life well lived.

It seems like only yesterday we were chatting in the staff room at Finch about his recent travels. As was mentioned previously, Dennis was a man of integrity, humour and class. He lived a life well lived and will be missed by many. My sincere condolences. Judy McCharles

Just heard the sad news. It has been my pleasure to have had the chance to work with Dennis. He was always there to help with computer issues and made me feel welcome as a member of the staff. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. A life taken to soon.

Sadness in hearing the news is accompanied by admiration in the way he lived his life: a kind person, a good family person and a teacher who really taught to the child. My sympathies to Shirley, Matthew, Jordan and Heidi. Sharon and Roger Bird

Dear Mrs. Peters, I am very sorry for your loss. Mr. Peters was a fantastic teacher and great guy. I owe a lot of my athletic success to him. He really got me started with interval running and how to train for track events. I wouldn't be where I am now without his help and support. I am in great debt to him and I am very sorry that I didn't get to say that to him. You've both had a huge impact on my life and I wanted to thank you for that. I can't image where I would be now without the support and athletic encouragement I received in the Upper Pine days. My thoughts are with you and I am incredibly sorry for your loss.

Dear Shirley, we are so sorry for your loss. I have such fond memories of your husband as a teacher. Mr. Peters was full of an amazing amount of patience, kindness, & grace, especially in my crazy handful of a grade 6 classroom (Including me) at Upper Pine. He had a great sence of humour and was such a strong man of faith and a wonderful example. It was my favorite year in school. I have nothing but positive memories, and greatful ones. It's been so nice for our family to attend the Alliance and to see you both there. Dennis was a blessing to so very many of us I'm sure, and I also wish I would have told him that. We are keeping your family in our Prayers.LoveMarianne, Wayne, Luke & Rhian Archambeault

Sending our thoughts and prayers to you Shirley, and your family. I am happy to have the memories from Hunter's school years at Upper Pine when you and Dennis worked there. Especially the two years I worked in Dennis' classroom. He was a really funny guy with a great smile and had a wonderful way with all his students. It was always nice to have a visit with him at Church and We will remember him fondly. Chris and Lori Eggimann and family
