Obituary of Paden Hodson
Obituary PADEN DEAN HODSON
was born February 3, 1990 in Fort St. John,
to loving parents Darren and Elaine Hodson.
His big brother Brad was so proud of him that
he took him to show and tell when Paden was
just two weeks old. Elaine swears that's why
he didn't graduate, he'd already put in his 12
years. Two years later his little sister Rikki
was born. Paden called her his "Little
Punkin Pie". Although he always thought of
everyone else first, on September 21, 2013,
Paden took his own life to be with his dad.
He died of a broken heart. For once he
thought only of himself. Paden left us to go
hunting with his dad. We must all remember
that his choice was not meant to harm us. Paden
loved very deeply, and everybody here should
know, his life was mostly happy, hopeful and
filled with many more great moments than bad
ones. He used up most of his energy making
those of us who had the honour of being in his
life smile. Kyle put it perfectly when he said,
"I feel sorry for everyone who never met him."
As we say goodbye, please believe that:
One act, one choice, does not define a life. One
act, one choice, is not a legacy. Every moment
of compassion, each act of kindness, every
story shared every witty comeback. His warm
smile, his infectious laugh, every hope, every
dream, that is what defines a life and creates a
legacy. Remember the things that brought you
happiness. Allow the stream of good memories
wash away your sorrow. If we remember his
love and honor his journey, we can understand
and say goodbye.
Paden was predeceased by his dad Darren and
grandparents Dean Hodson and Max & Marie
Friesen. He is survived by his mom Elaine,
Grandmother Dianne, Brother Brad, Sister
Rikki, and her boyfriend, Paden's bro, Michael
Arabe and the rest of us.
