Obituary of Ken Barnes Sr

Obituary KEN BARNES It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad Ken Barnes Sr. Dad passed away early evening Friday, Dec. 3 with his children by his side. Dad was born Jan. 3 1938 in Enderby, BC to Bill and Hazel Barnes with three siblings Judy, Rod and Larry. In 1964 Dad met Mom in Vancouver and they were married in June 1965. They spent the first part of their marriage in Lumby while Dad worked tugboats behind Mica Dam. The family moved to Fort St. John in 1981 for Dad to work construction on the Peace Canyon Dam. In the years since Dad had a snow removal business, did house painting and worked Trac hoe on oilfield sites. Dad is survived and will be missed by his children Clover, Ken Jr. and Leyan as well as his grandchildren. He is predeceased by Marlene his wife of 45 years. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Pauls and Fort St. John the hospital for all their help in the past five weeks. A memorial service will be held at the Legion, Duncan Cran Room on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 2pm.
