I was one of Fay's nurses and it was always a pleasure to spend time with her. She had a smile and kind word for everyone who came her way. I was so sorry to hear that she passed and I want her family to know that she will be fondly missed.

There are people in this world that come into your life, that no matter how much time has past or the distance between you they are still considered family of the heart. I have many memories of Fay all of which include so much joy and laughter! Her jokes were never ending and for so many audiences... . I remember being at Bear Lake around the fire and at one point Fay telling the kids it was time for the adult jokes and we had to leave! I loved the drop ins no matter how many km we lived apart. I loved seeing the crafts you were working on including the tatting... (which by the way I never did get started... ) So though you have passed, your memory will live strong. You will be truly missed. Much love from the Deeg family. xoxo

Fay was a big personality and had many friends in this community and beyond. As we, the family, looked over photos from the past, we see that her giant smile was there right from the beginning--her smile was a reflection of the size of her heart, but even one that big could only last so long. You've left the women in this family some pretty big shoes to fill Fay...but, together, I think we'll be able to manage future family celebrations and seasonal gatherings. It may take a bit to get our stride, but we all hear you about the house as we prepare for the days ahead, and we are grasping onto the fun and witty way that you would have dealt with things. Thanks from me for being a good listener and for loving on our kids unreservedly. Right to the end you were affirming them and encouraging them in their various pursuits. Thank-you for your unwavering faith and hope in God's timing and mercy. Thank-you for letting us see that time heals all things, that opinions and hurts can change and heal over, that loyalty is a virtue, and peacemakers are blessed.Give our love to G&G Blais, to Les, to cousin Ryan, the aunts and uncles who are surrounding you now.See you around the bend.Tara Brule (Salmond)

One of my favorite memories of Fay happened about 18 years ago. Ardith was pregnant with Emily at the time, and "crafting nights" were a big trend back in the late 90's. Our crafting nights had been devoted to making a QUILT for this new baby on the way. One evening, Fay came over and Ardith was so proud to show her our quilting handiwork. She surveyed the front and looked at the effort in the tiny uneven stitches - she could see how proud we were and praised us and was quite complimentary. Then...she turned it over to look at the back...and it was as though she was now staring at a crime scene...horrible knots of thread bunched all over the place, tangles and disarray. "Oh...girls..." she said, but not much more. The expert quilter surveying this great mess - but knowing how proud her daughter-in-law was of this project, she just smiled and said "well done!" I always admired how she honored Ardith's place in Jean's life, as his wife. I hope I can do the same one day for my sons. I am blessed to know you, Fay, and your wonderful family. I wish I wasn't saying goodbye quite so soon. Much love to you Marcel and the families of Jean, Dan, Deb and Michelle.
