Obituary of Margaret Millar

Obituary Margaret or "Marg" as she was known to her many friends, was born in Edmonton, Alberta on March 16, 1920. She was the youngest daughter of Ben and Margaret Williams. Marg worked for Boeing Industries in Vancouver for several years and on a trip home met a storekeeper, Harold Millar. They were married in Dawson Creek in May 1953 and lived at Mile 245 Highway Maintenance Camp. In 1956 they moved to Fort St. John and where Harold went to work for Pacific Petroleum. They were later transferred to Jedney and then Wonowon before finally moving back to Fort St. John. Marg worked for Sears until her retirement in 1985. She was also very active in the community and a life member of the Royal Purple, the Hospital WA, S.P.C.A. and the Historical Society. Marg loved tending to her yard, flower beds and vegetable garden. The birds and stray cats who came into her yard were well fed, both summer and winter. In February Marg moved to Heritage Manor 1 Apartments where she lived until her passing on April 29, 2015. Margaret Millar was one of a kind and everyone who was privileged to know and love her will miss her very much. Marg was predeceased by her husband Harold in 1993. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made in memory of Margaret to the Fort St. John Hospital Women's Auxiliary or the Fort St. John SPCA.
