Bernice and I spent many childhood hours playing games. We played kick the can, Ante I Over, hide and seek and tried to get as high as we could on the big old rope swing Uncle Ole made in the yard at the farm. She was always so much fun! I remember her beautiful curly auburn hair. It looked like grandpa Brekkaas' and showed golden highlights in the sunshine, but her smile was even more beautiful, always! My thoughts and prayers are with you in the loss of Bernice. She made her house a home where everyone was welcome. I remember many a Friday night driving up from Peace River and stopping in for some of the best coffee ever. She had a genuine interest in how people were doing and always made you feel great about yourself. Her love and pride in her family shone through and she loved to share stories about your accomplishments. Her smile and laughter lit up the room. She was a great lady! We are at a loss for words. So sad to hear of Gramma Bern's passing. Honestly, the most amazing woman I have ever had the privilege to know. I always have said, "I want my grandchildren to love me the way her grandchildren loved and adored her". Her grandbabies were as excited to go to her house the sixth time in the same day, as they were the first time. I love that the only "noise" she ever heard from children, was crying. Any other noise, was just play or happiness. I loved and respected that amazing lady. My heart breaks for her family:broken_heart: Elliot, we cannot express how sorry we are for your loss. To you, and to all of her children and grandchildren, we hope you are able to find comfort and strength in each other, your friends and your soul mates. We would be there to pay our respects in person, but unfortunately will be out of the country. Please know that we are thinking and praying for you all. Love Lou & Darcy
