My mom, Helen Smith, always enjoyed visiting with Ben and Ann, and now she will be visiting with him in Heaven! May God give you peace and comfort to face the days ahead. mom and the rest of our family remember Ben as a son, brother and friend. his mother was thanking mom one day for taking Ben in as he would not have stayed if it was not for us. That memory gives me such a warm feeling always. He was 29 when he walked into our lives and remained for ever. he brought us Helen such a lady and shared his family with all of us. i don't know if John and Hank Fair, Darryl, Jim etc. ever realized how much Ben and his family meant to all of us. Dad gave him a grainery (sorry for spelling) and we all helped him make it into a house and home. My brother Lanny and I used to try to step in his foot steps as we worked on the land (we were about 10 and had short legs compared to his very long legs, lol). through out my life he and Helen was such a help in so many ways, including taking in my children for a time (week days) when i went to college. there are so many things to remember and i feel so sad i will never be able to tell him in person how much he meant and still means to me and my family. i was glad that i did get to visit with him on 2 occasions very recently, i told him i was getting exrays on my neck due to pain....he laughed and said i was always a pain in the neck...oh we laughed. i want his family to know they have always and will always be our family no matter where we or they are. we are always just a call or text away. Peter, Connie, Genna, kathy and Brenda please never forget how important you are to our family ....we will alway love you and be there for you night or day. AND I MEAN THAT LITERALLY. i have printed off a poem from a facebook segment that i recieved the day after i heard of Bens passing. i think it was a message from him to me and i want to share it with you and yours. love you all ....peace be with you alwaysA candle was lit

Dear Ann and the Bergen Family,What a shock to hear that Ben is gone, we have such good memories of visiting with Ben, either at their home at Rose Prairie, family reunions and on the phone. It was not a long conversation until Ben would talk about his love for Jesus his Saviour and friend. May the Lord Jesus carry you through this difficult time and in the days and weeks to come. Love you all.cousin and friends Ernie & Martha Martens

Dear Ann and family of Ben Bergen: Ben is a special cousin of mine who we met again at a Bergen reunion a few years ago in Hepburn, Sask. He shared with us about his wife's death and then his marriage to Ann and how the Lord had given him love again for a new lady and also that he andI Ann were quite involved with Abbeyfield Houses in Fort St John. He looked healthy and it was so good to visit with them. The best was sharing about how Jesus makes the difference in ones life. Our cousin Tom had already entered eternity this past year. May the Lord bless all the family and Ann as you carry on without him. We love you all Thelma Bergen Teichroeb for John too

Ben was a great friend. Ben had a strong faith in Christ that led him to serve his church and community well. It was a privelige to be his pastor for a number of years. To Ann and each of his children, may God bless you all as you celebrate his life and his faith. Don Holloway
