Evelyn Hadland spent many years involved with the North Peace Historical Society, and the Fort St. John North Peace Museum. Her volunteer hours were too many to count; and included regular shifts in the Museum gift shop. Her beautiful cursive writing on the blackboard in the school display is a testimony to her years of teaching, and is there for everyone to admire.Sincere sympathy is extended to the Hadland family from all of us who are involved at the Museum, and who knew this fine lady.Evelyn Sim.

I was so sad to hear of Evelyn's death. When I came to Central Elementary School as a young teacher way back in the 60's, Evelyn extended her kindness to me as a more experienced teacher, and I so appreciated her help. And, Austin, you and Evelyn entertained us at your house on that first Christmas we were away from our family in the States. I have often thought of how that act of caring for us meant so much and remained a special memory over the years. Whenever our little group of retired Central teachers would have our annual let together, Evelyn would help entertain us with her stories of the "old times" told with her unique sense of humor. I can't help but smile when I think about those happy times. Our condolences to you, Austin, and to all of the family from Rich and myself. She was a very special lady.
