Obituary of Rose Gass

Obituary Rose Gass Rose Gass (Grandmaison) was born on March 25th 1943 to Rene and Lillian (Myrdal) Grandmaison. She was born in Cold Lake Alberta. She often called herself a coal miner's daughter. She spent her growing up years in the Coal Branch region of Alberta including, Mountain Park, Mercoal & Cadomin After Roses father passed away in 1957, she and her mother returned to Cold Lake. She was 14. Rose met and married Irvine Bulmer on January 15,1959 at the age of 16. They had two sons in 1961, ten months apart to the day! After Ervin's tragic passing in 1963, she became reacquainted with John Gass who had a son and two daughters of his own. Soon after they blended their two families together. At the age of 21, Rose was the mother of five children ranging in age from 3-9. They moved to the airport in Ft. St. John in 1964 and bought the home they lived in until they both passed away. For any normal woman this would have been impossible but Rose seemed to be superwoman when it came to caring for five children. She was a kid at heart who always seemed to find herself in the middle of the action, whether it was a snowball fight or a water fight. Her house was always spotless, clothes were always clean and there was always plenty of food. She lost the love of her life, John Gass in January 17 2007 She will be greatly missed by her 5 children and respective spouses, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy can be made to the BC Heart and Stroke Foundation.
