I met Jay and Ray back in 2006 when we all worked together at Schlumberger in FSJ. As soon as Jason and I realized we both played, we spent almost all of our free time together, and built a music room in the back of the Progressive Technology Down-hole Tool shop. On a few occasions, we would play so much that we would just sleep there. I relocated back to Calgary, but whenever I was through town for business, I would always stop by to see Jay, Ray and the kids and usually stay the night. On occasion, I would just speak to him on the phone, and drive for 10 hours from Calgary to come jam at the acreage, and even Jay came down and stayed with us in pine lake so that we could play at the Multiplex in Springbok Alberta. Going to really miss you my friend.

I only knew jay for 17 yrs. we met through the music scene on the sunshine coast. he was helpful, kind, and quirky,[mostly in a good way!], when I came to FSJ , back in '04, we rekindled our musical collaberations, and played together whenever we could. even then he was suffering , even to play, but he always soldiered on.....my condolences to you Rachel, and the boys, I wish we had been able to see each other more often, but having children, finances, and time restrictions always seemed to get in the way of that.....he will be missed...by many, all my love.....

J and I were best friends, for years and years. More than buddies, we were musical brothers. We shared manya and manya killer gig, from Gibson's to those Egmonsters up in Egmont! We shared an intense bond, musical goosebumps on musical goosebumps..I recall one moment where a young man, after watching us perform for hours, walk up and say to J," your tone man!! I am so grateful to have spent the summer of 2008 with Jason and Rachel. Considering J and I had never met before, it was quite the decision to let me into his life during that time. I learned right away that that was Jason - very welcoming, kind, funny, and a heck of a guitar player. I also quickly discovered from seeing him with my sister that his two greatest loves were music and family, with the latter only growing stronger as Isaac and Luc came into the world. Rachel. I'm so sorry about your loss. I remember Jason and when we all sat together at an OGC Christmas party in 2007. We had music trivia that night. Jason and I were both pretty confident on this one song 'Get it On (Bang a Gong)'. I thought for sure it was Power Station but Jason had me. He knew it was a cover from the original band T. Rex.
