Sid was a legend. I worked with and for him for almost 4 years and I got to tell you, there was no better glue guy than this man. I am struggling with the fact that he is gone - first year as plant manager and totally owning at it ever step of the way. To me and everybody else we knew the sky was the limit for Sid. To see it cut short is nothing short of unjust. I miss you already man. My heart goes out to Jen and the kids. Everybody talks about his love of hockey, but I can assure you he spent more time talking about his family and how proud he was of them. So today on his day to celebrate his life, I salute Sid Davis and everything he gave this world and thank him deeply for that. We're all better having known you. J

Condolences to the Davis Family. Sid was a great man. His humor and wry grin were a very special combination. My heart goes out to Jen and the kids. Life and hockey won't be the same without Sid; a lifelong playing and coaching opponent and long time friend. Rest in peace. Jeff Dods

The world lost a good and wonderful guy. It's been a while since I spoke to Sid, but I'll always remember him as a friend, as most do who cross paths with this warm, smiling character you just can't help but like. His sense of humour is well known, but I remember a practical side, too. Once, the two of us screaming down the highway on a motorcycle, we passed a school bus on the shoulder side where the road was only a single lane. As the bike shimmied and shook and we both thought we might not make it, I yelled at Sid, "do you think this was a good idea?" Sid clearly did not, but he just shrugged and yelled back, No, but what does it matter now?" My heart goes out to Sid's family and friends. Our world was always a better place with Sid in it.

Feeling absolutely shocked beyond belief with tremendous sadness and tears i share the passing of a great friend and boss. I first met Sid in early 2000. He Was fresh off his cement truck driver job at united concrete.Riverside forest products wanted me to turn him into a sawmill foreman somehow...so i trained him up real good, just loved the guy, showed him everything i knew and before you know it he was my boss. The crews loved the guy. He was A natural boss. He coached Carey Price of the montreal Canadians for several years so it wasnt a big suprise. Long story short he went from Quality control,to foreman for tolko for about 10 yrs,he then left the lakeview tolko mill to take a job at canfor where our ol buddy Richard Crowell offered him a job as sawmill superintendant around 2012?? I just chatted with him last month,he still wanted me to come run shifts in fort saint John. He informed me he was now the plant manager there and now he is deceased. I love ya Sid,thanks for all the hugs and pats on the back when i didnt even deserve one. May thoughts and prayers be with your your family that you loved so much. RIP,love Johnny O

My deepest condolences goes out to Sids family, friends, colleagues, teammates and players who had the opportunity to play under Sids guidance. When I think of Sid I get a warm and cheerful feeling. He always had a way to make me laugh. A couple of my favorites were from a summer "beer gardens tour" in the early 90's. On our way home from Billy Barker Days, we stopped by Mom and Dads to listen to an amazing impromptu performance of Journeys - Don't Stop Believing with Cub on vocals and Dave Kozuki pounding the piano. Sid in his overly excited voice saying that if he had those skills he'd tie that piano to his ass and make some serious coin playing on the streets!!! I'll also never forget when we were headed to the soccer tournament beer gardens in Salmon Arm, and someone decided it was a good idea to stop and cool off with a quick dip in Little Shuswap... off some poor families Lake front property - I don't think anyone expected to see full moons run across their yard and dive off the dock! My love goes out to the Davis family. Thanks for inviting me to join you guys on your adventures Sid. Until we meet again. Xoxo Bryan
