We were shocked as many others were to hear of Emil's passing :-( He will be missed. He was loved by all who knew him. He had a " wittiest & wonderful sense of HAHA" . A few of our favorites that we share with many were:1) Friday nite Mixed Curling .... Terry, Lynn. Layton & I were curling against Larry, Donna, Con & Emil ......He comes walking down the ice dragging his broom behind him :-) He says to Layton "Don't Smile .... they'll think you are having fun !!!"2) Emil along with his dad , Joe , Dad Scheck Val,... Emil's .... Uncle Val & Layton were all sitting around the table out at Siffon Creek farm house. There was a long lull of silence when Emil quietly said " It's so quiet out here you can hear the Flies" fart !! " Needless to say .... he had broke the lull :-)We are so thankful that we were able to spend 5 days with Con & Emil.. Emil toured us around FSJ. We were totally taken by surprise at how much that city had grown. It had been a long time since we had been up there. I could go on & on ..... We will miss him sooooo much. Then after I moved away from FSJ we managed to stay in touch over coffee from time to time. I will miss those visits with Emil but I will never forget his smile and wonderful sense of humour. Emil and I worked together for many years on the BCH Linecrew. Emil's hard work and dedication to the Fort St John Curling Club will be missed. Emil alongside Connie volunteered many hours to the FSJ Club as he believed hard work and commitment was how to get the job done! It was always great to see Emil at curling knowing Connie gave him a nudge to get him there to actually curl and not to work.
